Interesting and good points about the multifaceted way business is done here in the USA. Yet, there are also many people that worked under the company store situation that do not appreciate anything you point out. The article is about company abuse and these company towns you speak of had many abuses due to the company in control. Yes, it seems as if a company started by poorer people might like the company town approach and skip the banking industry cluster fuck. This does nothing to stop successful companies from abusing the populous. Bottom line it is greed that is the basis for both the banking and company town issues. The system under which these abuses happen does not matter as much as the heart of the business men in charge.
Per-fluorinated is a carbon chain with no hydrogens on the carbons, C8 has all fluorines on the carbons. This is an organic compound. What is in our water is a salt with fluoride and not organic by chemistry definitions. These are very different compounds and the human body deals with each very differently.

Any time the power/money situations are "remodeled" it comes out with the people at the top making more and the bottom left out of the economic playing field. Surprise! What is the difference between the feudal days of these eight castle states getting together creating a country (in Europe) and all the countries of Europe getting together to create a new economic entity? It was never about the people it is about the few in charge.
Any chemist in the world knows per fluorinated chemicals are toxic. Take a look at this stick structure of C8, every line that intersects another line indicates a carbon. Every time two fluorines attach a "V" shape to the center line a carbon atom is at the intersection. https://geoforward.com/pfoa-perfluorooctanoic-acid-c8/
They know this because per chlorinated and fluorinated compounds have been tested to be rather toxic to the environment. They EPA has known this for....ever. The chemical in aerosol cans was connected to wholes in the Ozone layer in the seventies and it was a per-chloro and per-fluorinated compound. They, the powers to be knew of the toxicity of these kinds of compounds decades before any study was conducted to prove what they already knew.

West Virginia started out with company towns. These company towns had company stores and the people where paid with company minted money that can only be used at the company store. West Virginia is still operating under these same standards even though these companies now pay their employees with dollars. West Virginia has been a human experiment for a long time.
When living in Charleston West Virginia (1970's) once a month the entire city would smell like a dead whale due to some chemical being dumped into the Kanawha river by Dupont. The Elk river a tributary of the Kanawha river was so polluted the poor people swimming in it would get out with black spots (I witnessed this) all over their body that would wipe off on the towels. I would never swim in the rivers of West Virginia due to the chemical and coal industry running the state.
Thanks for the post HibikiBlack
I wonder how many companies in West Virginia (and other states) are still preforming these bad ethical behaviors today. Every ten years or so West Virginia is in the news once again due to these companies pulling some illegal stunt and the people, forests and animals pay for companies profets. West Virginia is absolutely beautiful Nature to experience and it is the saddest state to live within due to the continual mistreatment of its people by these governmentally sponsored/supported company practices. Look into the history of West Virginia and we see a perfect example of capitalistic practices of the companies we all see running our Nation. There is no way one should ever trust a company to do the ethical thing when their ability to make money is threatened. The threat IS the ability of nature to support human, plant and animal life...Realty?

You have know idea if I believe in anything let alone smthg? Sometimes, when I get comments like yours I see religious people having a reality tunnel they cannot leave. Anytime there is a perceived (even if it is not there) anti God comment you are ready to convert the sinful. I'm not buying into this statement. I am not a religious person and know many many non-religious people...and they and I are not cultists. BTW, most all religions started as a cult before being tagged with a new label...religion. Non of the categories grouping humans you listed are religions or a cults. They are special interest groups and their function is divide, an abyss, large hole between groups of humans. This is what is meant by divide and conquer. We never get a class in school teaching people how to compromise or negotiate an understanding between two people or two groups...just "don't leave a child's behind...behind" and STEM.

Yes, but this does not stop the populous of any country to just sit down and not go to work. If we do not work we are basically taking over the production (by not producing and not spending money). It does not matter the factory jobs have left for china and other countries, that support paying their people...nothing, in other words keep the majority of their people below or at the poverty level. Yes, we would have to work together at a level most slaves or people of less financial means have never done in our human past. Yes, there would be a large group of people starving due to no money to pay for the essentials. Hence we would have to work together like never before.
LOL, work together in this media driven separation of all of us into little groups fighting each other with opinions on social media...LOL Conquered by divide.

Simple categorizations, such as left, right, liberal, conservative, blah, blah, blah are greased footballs in the field game of "your divided and conquered". If all of us pick some ridiculous catchy phrase or word, I'm a republican, I'm not woke or fill in the bland then how are we ever going to not be conquered because divided? To debate anything this author puts forth is only to play the "hit piece" game, which is the same as you are conquered because divide.
This author has the gaul to write "our game" and "their game" while telling me he has never had an open debate with a "woke" person. How the fuck does he know what their game is if there has never been a debate. And goes on to quote "woke peoples" writings, which is a form of debate simply because they published their view points. What a shitty set up for his whole argument. If you don't buy into this authors "side of the game" in other words you are not part of the liberal woke group then your golden baby...because you are now divided from those you don't care for...even if you could debate them.

<Having / growing balls is not a 'gender' or 'sexuality' question. It's obviously a figure of speech. Like my fkn is. But i mostly use in other ways bc. English is only my third learned language and i'm very grateful that i learned Latin FIRST.>. Yet, you used this this figure of speech and therefore begs my statement. Well, if this is your third language congratulations, you must be of great intellect. I still wonder at your low brow figure of speech and still begs my question from an intellect, with more power...Oops I forgot the clarification < But since most US-Americans don't even understand their own grammar, i can see no point in discussing my creative use of it.>.
Baiting can be low brow and baiting can be intellectual and the pyramid tells you which one is most acceptable, if one's goal is to be a master baiter. Now that little turn of phrase was not so low brow, but uses the same body parts as your figure of speech (its in how one present the figure and both sexes masterbate). And is more a joke upon us both than any low brow trolling of an extremist's point of view. If every post is built around cognitive dissonance, then how are you going to reach anyone on the internet that is outside you bias? I suppose you handled me like a noob, or not...thats up to you. I must be a noob, because I have no idea what "bc" means. I must be outside the in-group, therefor double noob to me.
<In the field of psychology, cognitive dissonance occurs when a person holds two or more contradictory beliefs, ideas, or values; or participates in an action that goes against one of these three, and experiences psychological stress because of that.>. Any argument can be analyzed by this frame work even when it is a constructive debate and does not go low brow or low on the pyramid. If and only if, you write your personal truths in word, hence personal and befitting the emphasis on psychology of the individual. I don't care what group you or anyone else are within, there are group characteristics both acceptable and unacceptable...in all groupings, categorizations of humans.
I find paradox of the mind that, which cognitive dissonance refers is a place to learn one's biases (at the least). Again, I am a noob or boob that's up to you to define by figurative writing. I already know myself and how I define me myself and I. Even the people around me don't use these words to describe me, but please feel free. I always wanted to learn Latin, dyslexia hinders my motivation.

Hey Chipit, the article only complains/explains intersectionality and gives no answers or solutions. Is it the one statement you quoted that contains the value of this article? So, the answer to intersectionality is to build you own personal morality? This way you will not have your morality highjacked by the crowed. Yet, morality is taught to you by your, "culture/family within it" as he stated in the beginning. I am not sure there is any value in this article other than supporting the status quo of conquered because divide rephrased as "intersectionality".
At the end of the article, "Perhaps, therefore, a better analogy than the triumph of Christianity or the Reformation is the French Revolution, and its worship of Reason. It excited urban intellectuals and seemed to herald a new age but fizzled out as it could not speak to the totality of human experience. Perhaps, intersectionality too heralds not so much a new dawn as a false start."
So, the author likes reason as the way, but says reason cannot speak to the masses. The author should have been quoting Wilhelm Reich to support this conclusion. And showing the mechanism of propaganda that, "to say a lie loud enough and long enough it becomes real". Now that there are so many loud voices (Internet) and we cannot tell which is fake and which is not fake...we get "intersectionality"? It is a well written article but of very little value to me.

Empathy and understanding to you and your view point of our Country's situation. I gave it the college try, even though at 18-20 years old I felt the same way you do now. Family, college degree and these trappings of "success" where sought after and obtained, while I watch the world slowly (born early sixties) get more chaotic by economics/politics as the 2000's became the new century. I was so pessimistic in my late twenties, I told people at work (1993-4) they where going to loose 40-50% of their 401K money in all those hedge funds. These people laughed me out of the room, 2008 came and the average lose was about 35-45% by average.
This convinced me this place was headed in a dark direction. The saddest part is to watch all the people around me get greedier and greedier. Everyone buying houses, stock, shifting companies in hopes of this startup's stock will make me a "killing". The funniest thing is everyone that has a mortgage says, "I own a house"...lol no you don't the bank owns it until you pay off that 30 year loan. The pier pressure to buy a house was tremendous (conformity) and is why they can build these cheap ass houses next to the freeway and the railroad and sell them for half a million and up. NO fucking way I pay that much for a house and listen to the freeway and the trains rattle my windows.
I knew there was going to be a days like these days for the whole of my life. I am glad to see the old ways being destroyed, this makes way for the new. But, I am not looking forward to what is going to be implemented to replace the old structures. The absolute saddest part is to watch these activists doing the same thing over and over looking for a different result. Riots, revolution, protesting in the streets being violent almost every time, due to multiple mechanism, these old methods are just repeats and Einstein's quote tells it all, "Repeating the same thing over and over looking for a different result is the first sign of insanity. And this situations is depressing and hard to get passed. The nail in the coffin for me and the future of the USA was the Supreme Court decision of Citizens United (and this happened before Habeas Corpus was eliminated from our laws of democracy). As usual the double speak use of a beautiful thing we all want "CITIZENS UNITED" hides the insidiousness of the actual law...giving control of the politics, media-politics and other things to MONEY. “If it were revolutionary (BLM, any group for great social/political change) propaganda’s cardinal task ‘to undeceive the proletariat’, this
could not have been done solely by appealing to their ‘class consciousness’, nor solely by
constantly impressing upon them the objective economic and political situation, and
certainly not by constantly exposing the frauds that had been practiced on them. The first
and foremost task of revolutionary propaganda should have been to give the
contradictions in the workers the most sympathetic consideration, to grasp the fact that it
was not a clear revolutionary will that was concealed or befogged, but that the
revolutionary impulse in the psychic structure of the proletariat was partially
undeveloped and partially interfused with contrary reactionary structural elements. The
distillation of the revolutionary sentiments of the broad masses is undoubtedly the basic
task in the process of awakening their social responsibility.”
Wilhelm Reich The Mass Psychology of Fascism.
It is the phrase "to underachieve the proletariat" making this opinion/fact so powerful.

How about this for discussion:
<If a laboring man has no land, no chance of making use of the right, so natural for every man, to obtain from the land his own means of support and those of his family, this is not so because the nation wants it to be so, but because certain men, the owners of land, are granted the right to admit, or not to admit, the laboring people to it. And this unnatural order of things is maintained by means of the army. If the immense wealth, accumulated by the laboring people, is not considered as belonging to all men, but to an exclusive number of men; if the power to collect taxes from labor and to use the money for anything they may see fit is entrusted to a few men; if a few men are permitted to select the method of the religious and civil instruction and education of the children; if strikes of the laborers are opposed and strikes of the capitalists are encouraged; if a few men are granted the right to compose laws, which all must obey, and to dispose of men’s property and life—all this does not take place because the nation wants it so, but because the governments and the ruling classes want it so, and by means of bodily violence establish it so.—Leo Tolstoy, The Kingdom of God is Within You>

There are personal truths for what is personal philosophy of life, but your truths directing decisions effecting/affecting potential futures.
There are the little truths we share like hey man don't walk into that tree.
But, is there a universal truth for all of us? This requires experimentation, a discussion (about all the personal truths we use for one's self) between many People at a level of personal depths of inner information. The majority of humans would shy away from participation. It must be a set and setting from, which all participants feel trust, safe and equals with all others in the room. The more detail I put into this thought of how to come up with an answer to is there a universal truth for all of us...the more the experiment will be come too difficult of most humans to participate.

<The model lists five phases of skill acquisition: Novice, Advanced Beginner, Competent, Proficient and Expert. There’s obviously a lot to it,
since it takes an entire book to describe it, but the gist of it is that skill acquirers moving from “dogmatic following of rules and lack of big picture”
to “intuitive transcending of rules and complete understanding of big picture.>. Yes!
I envision the process of getting to the advanced beginner is to learn the <skill's> vocabulary, lexicon. Hence, understanding the subject studied and not
the <big picture>...yet. All this involves the axis not the praxis. The axis of the praxis must be established by lingo and then comes the two steps
forward one step back process looping back upon data/information acquired in order to form a vision of the <big picture> and praxis is obtained. Looping
is a basic coding concept and if we humans don't loop back and reassess our thoughts...we get to the expert beginner.

I should have put <Double Speak> in quotes, because it was not criticism and I agree with your sentiments. I believe the Orwellian <double speak> (hypocrites) is the mechanism behind the open letter's intent <But this needed reckoning has also intensified a new set of moral attitudes and political commitments that tend to weaken our norms of open debate and toleration of differences in favor of ideological conformity.>. EXAMPLE: OH, I think it was the nineties when the acronym <PC> talk became a cultural meme and part of everyday. Politically correct is double speak. The funniest part about the acronym is it was being used between individuals to represent how to get along...<better than before>, because no one will get offended. Yet, the use of the word political, as I stated above is about half of this or half of that. Hence, by my way of writing political is helping create the double speak.
I too can piss off almost everyone from all those categorizing words <That phrasing is the result of me cleaning the labels out of my closet. :-) Libertarian, conservative, classical liberal, radical centrist...>. Depending on the person listening/reading my cultural ideas of governance. They will use one or more of the categorizing of human's minds words listed in your words quoted with <...etc> at the end. I will attempt to use them as you did...I am conservative in that I want to understand the change needed before action is chosen. So, the liberal changes needed don't go too fast and furious upon our population. Life provides many dualities or dyads of concepts that twirl around each other...conservative/liberal. They push and pull our realities around each other and the open letter tells us how deep our troubles go into our minds. Example: ephemeral things like invisible lines on earth with military bases protecting...invisible lines and invisible thoughts/words in our heads. Personally, I think all humans on Gaia are much more similar than any eyeball differentiations.
Conservative anything is constriction and liberal anything is expansion and both are a classic polarity pushing away and pulling back. The absurdity within which these two words are over used in our culture helps create the situation we are within...conquered because divided. <Never waist the opportunity of a good tragedy> and other wonderfully crafted wolf in sheep's clothing comments are thought as good ideas to apply to life and its opportunities. Almost all the seven deadly sines can be <George Carlin> like reduced to one or two, because greed covers a few of the seven, gluttony is greed of food, lust is greed of sex. Double speak and the pyramidal structuring of authority in the Patriarchal Authoritarian (PA) system of organizing governments and culture creates this situation. I have laughed many times thinking about how psychology is handled by our culture. They say the it is the family and the individual's fault and never incorporate the fact our culture produced them and is as responsible as the family. Yet, the shame and stigma is left for the individual that walks into the psychologist office...to help themselves do what...conform? PA creates all the Abby Normals in our cultures. Hence, Abby Normal is the new Normal and we get what you see on all the screens monitoring our visual lives. How many people on our planet, by percentage are eating some pharmaceutical psycho active pill to feel better...while being a good conformer to the PA system of governance.
All cultures during written history are PA no matter the -ism, -ocracy affixing suffix. We the people have been within PA since the dawn of written history, do any of us know how to think out of the box all of our ancestors came from and we are still in? My conservative bone is wanting us to discuss all these things slowly, within tolerance and with total equanimity...and no PC talk. In hopes of liberating our souls, minds and every day choices of a life lived. Shit, it cracks me up how anyone can get upset over the different connotations of libertas, liberal, liberate. It was all ok when we liberated the people on the other side of the invisible line that our military was <helping?>.
I am in agreement with you. My double speak hypocritical comment is <But I agree about the state of discourse>. What do you want to say within the discourse you wish to have. I'm up to discourse upon this article's intent.
The Institutions we have are broken. Everything from Harvard to the WHO to the New York Times has been co-opted. The question is: What new Institutions are we building in their place? by Aureus in whatever

OK, fair enough...I was harsh on the alt news people. Yet, the formate in which these alt news YouTubers present their news can follow the mainstream news too closely and then it just becomes parroting what all the other alt and mainstreamers are producing. I find the alt news I don't appreciate tend to have the feel of sensationalism (to sell news/garner money) due to sounding and visually just like mainstream...even though the store telling is alternative...IMO.
Thanks for keeping me real...create a great day...
Both parties fall under an old saying "the pot calling the kettle black" (Both parties are hypocritical). To "politic" is to say half truths as if they are not half of the picture and to promise more than half of what you will ever be able to deliver when elected. And everyone is up in arms about "fake news" when they let the elected people lie all day long. Yet, I was truly surprised to see now one dissenting...at all.
If the "mainstream" media and alt-media are not to be trusted as news sources. Don't watch or click on their shit, this will reduce advertisement money for said media outlet. They will be bought out or go away. As for alt media parroting mainstream...just peruse the front page of Saidit. I always find it funny how we see so much mainstream news on this sight. If you publish that, which you do not approve of...perpetuates that, which you do not approve of, no matter how much you write about your disapproval.
Maybe, stop using mainstream anything to produce your thoughts. Find a way to use your own words and any source of information to support your opinion Other than mainstream news articles. To see the same opinions repeated over and over gets old fast. How to instill, to create in an others mind the working beauty of Einstein's words: To repeat the same method, mechanism over and over looking for a different result is the first signs of insanity.
We are watching the old structures attempt to remake themselves so as to continue the "new boss same as the old boss, the more it changes the more it stays the same". These structures need to come down before there is room for the new. I am on the side of individual psychological change is required for that change we call "for the good of all". Change education and all these things will be changed over time by the new leaders growing into adults.
Oh, what a cluster fuck we are in with special interests for special interests floating a Conquered by divide state of being (through out history). We are so full of fear, anxiety and massive stress how can anyone think clearly to even suggest anything outside of an Authoritarian Patriarchal (AP) point of view? What is "to think out of the box" when it has been over 5,500 years of AP and AP has not worked for all...only a select few...LOL how it is so hard to watch history repeat itself.

...and the crickets chirp...six hours of no comments to this post. No Chomsky haters voicing dissent? No "conservatives" upset over these peoples opinions? No anti-intellectuals going after these "intellectuals" for their "smarty pants" ideas infecting the youth?...LOL..here is some bait for you.

No oppression of debate is not rooted in fascism, yet governments/authorities are always involved when it rears its ugly head.
Reich is a fantastic writer to be able to express what he does in Mass Psychology of Fascism. What I would like others to experience through his work. These mechanisms of oppression are a two way street. The government and a portion (The numbers of people are media hyped-n-typed) of the population (being oppressed) supports the change for more oppression. Reich, like myself would love to understand how people can continually behave...NOT in their best interests. If it where not for words such as Patriotism. I am not sure the word conscription would be in operation. Shit, 90% of what we think of as human smarts is ephemeral mental structures...illuminated and constructed by Words.
It’s Not Just Face Masks. Everything Is Now a Political Death Match. by Drewski in politics
I appreciate them not mentioning that the "oppression" of free thoughtful debate by all the mechanisms listed, harkens Fascism's ways and means. Oh, the uproar I will get for that point of view of our changing systems. Please, expose your thought processes to this book: https://lorage.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/Wilhelm-Reich-The-Mass-Psychology-of-Fascism-Farrar-Straus-Giroux-1980.pdf this book was burnt by many European peoples after it was written (1st edition) in 1933. This is the third addition and the fourth is special because he did this fourth edit after WWII. This book's information is why the opinion said above. Belief is not necessary only an open mind and thoughtful Pyramidal debate.
...create a great day...
lol it is equanimity, sorry I am dyslexic and don't always see the editing needed, thanks for the heads up.
OK, fair enough. I am not pleased with these "Government being a parent" laws that others reference by "Nanny state". IMO, it dumbs down the humans under such laws. They are not required to think about what might simply be common sense.

You hit the issue on the button. The elephant in the room is how to discuss such ideas without promoting it by publishing it, posting it. Silence is not the answer, so I put this out there in hopes we all can find a way to peaceful change. My comments about the posted article makes me the same hypocrite as the author and website. It is a paradox.
I don't want to go into all the ideas expressed in this article that I find questionable. They are in the business of news and making money off of written word. They require sensationalism to garner click baiting clickers in order to create revenue. Hence, yellow journalism is the old phrase and it took Trump to create the new propaganda packaging, "fake news". It is not a new idea it is older than the invention of news papers.
How do we discuss these issues without promoting the conquer by divide state we are all within at the moment? Non of us have been educated in doing such things for all of written history has been of the same. Non of us have lived out of this box we are in, therefore how would any of us know what it is like to be outside it? Let alone be able to envision such thoughts?
Einstein is quoted to say something like this: Most people cannot express an opinion with equanimity outside/against the social prejudice of the times. Most people cannot even form such thoughts. I attempt to live up to this quote, yet fall short on the equanimity part.
In my personal experience I have never witnessed anything like this: "Somehow, it became a sign of bedrock conservative principles to refuse to wear a face mask anytime, anyplace, in the middle of a pandemic. Likewise, it's now a marker of devout progressivism to shriek like banshees at anybody who fails to don a mask even for a stroll along a deserted path. Forget health concerns—masks have become signifiers of tribal affiliation."
The author and web sight publishing this article is rather hypocritical. To spout this information is to publish it for all to see and continues the "bullshit" called yellow journalism...Oops now it is called "fake news". The paragraph above are just words about something I never experience, which is true of 99% of news...both alternative and main stream news.
BTW: If you think this situation we all share on Gaia is about picking a side and getting in the streets with signs.......Conquered. So, what is the answer? It certainly is not repeating (riots, protests, signs etc.) those same acts history has shown does not make for great change for all of us Socially, Culturally. How to change things will never happen in America, unless the powers to be wish it. There are special interests for special interests (media propaganda just like the paragraph above)...how the #$@# can we make change under these conquered by divide conditions?
Revolution is changing the heads not the positions that where there while you cut off the last set of leaders heads. Revolving, revolutions around the same circle does not change a thing. Oh, the French Revolution is so romanticized, yet the same governmental problems exist in France today that the head cutters where getting ride of?
We humans are in desperate need of new ways and means of peaceful change. What the fuck is peaceful change and how does it look and function? Well, since we have preformed this Patriarchal Authoritative (PA) society thing ACROSS the planet for...+5,500 years. How would anyone living know what Anything Different form this box we all where born into. Einstein said: The biggest problems we face today cannot be solved by the same mind set we where in when we created said problems. He also said, to repeat the same process, mechanism, method over and over looking for a different result...is the first signs of insanity.
OK, I rant and yet wish to discuss these ideas with others on saidit.
Scientists Discover a Jewel at the Heart of Quantum Physics – WIRED by Tetrahedron in Physics
https://brianwhitworth.com. Quantum Realism: Another perspective on "IT ALL" through physics definitions of Reality. Is it not time to stop atomizing reality as the Greeks did by inventing the word Atom? Is "particle" the only answer to all of quantum physics? Stings seem to muddle the theory and not solve anything. Einstein said it something like this: To solve todays biggest problems we require a new mindset from which we are within, when we created said problems. He also said something like this: to repeat the same thing over and over looking for a different result is the first sign of insanity.
This new amplituhedron is a nice way to calculate that, which is "particle" and does not change the paradigm...only the perspective from which to view the paradigm. Maybe this is the beginning of the paradigm builder's minds shifting and not the observable Universe...that, which Einstein's quotes speak?
I don't even come close to having the answers or answer. I humbly ask, deeper questioning of the professors of physics (those paradigm builders/destroyers). Our fixation of "particles" to solve the cutting edge questions Einstein brought to the table...maybe repeating old ways and means over and over.
