It gives people a sense that they can do something. Like in WW2, when it was encouraged for metal railings in churchyards etc to be removed, so that they can be melted into shells for the front. What actually happened is the railings remained in storage as the metal was unsuitable.

There’s plenty of these kinds of plots for sale around the country, relying on the possibility of relaxing green belt rules. That is very unlikely as it would be political suicide to implement such a change. If you are going to put money in then treat it as a gamble, and bear in mind you may not be able to sell it on in the future given that there’s a surplus of these schemes.

I thought 2020 would bring a recession therefore I sold shares midway through the year. How wrong I was.
