I'm under no illusion that Elon's decision was out of pure goodness. He's staked $44 billion on Twitter's success and secured his control over the platform. That audience of 205 million is waiting to see how he'll affect it, and they'll blame him if the user experience declines in quality.

Beyond that, why assume the current board makes better decisions than he would, or cares any more about the average person? To most dissidents, they're combating supposed misinformation by unilaterally removing content and banning accounts based on their own internal guidelines, extending to the silencing of a US president's voice to 80 million followers. Their impact on the political process and our governance is undeniable. It's done actively and in a biased manner, and they haven't been held accountable to anyone but their shareholders, who pressured them to accept the buyout. Dorsey himself admitted regret over Twitter's runaway censorship and supports a transition away from Wall Street influence by taking the company private.

Also bear in mind that Twitter is not a country. No one is ruled by them, only influenced. Their methods and policies, not their internal structure, will determine the extent to which they are authoritarian. Try Tyranny. It's an Obsidian RPG that flew under the radar and features characters that are actually well-written and interesting, including the rival antagonists. You begin with a great deal of power and can abuse it in sadistic ways, strive for a balanced and logical approach, or pursue justice. The narrative wrangles with differences of moral philosophy and the consequences of seeing them through, which are considerable. 'Good' isn't always best. Unlike the typical bloated messes attempting to stretch out play hours, it's also respectful of time and has a relatively focused, concise story.

A major issue is that the larger projects are designed through collaboration across numerous departments and target a broad audience, meaning the edge is dulled and direction is lacking. I see that inclination manifesting from a few factors, one of which being a deep-seated resentment towards the host culture and its people. One vote per wed family household, and how the spouses jointly decide should be up to them. No children or home property? No vote. I don't believe forward-thinking policies are as important to people when they have no future generation to care about, meaning children of their own, and they'll have less stake in local conditions and governance when they can simply end a rental lease and move.

Extended military service could be an alternative means of securing voting privilege, for people who are infertile or unwilling to have children, and don't own property for whatever reason. Committing 5+ years of one's life to the defense of a nation should be enough sacrifice.

Also, no convicted felons or 1st generation immigrants should ever be able to vote. This would partially limit the destructive incentive of politicians to support widespread immigration and the release of criminal recidivists. A corollary to this would be the elimination of jus soli birthright citizenship, so those born to non-citizen parents would no longer have it automatically conferred.

Lastly, voting should require a basic knowledge test on each candidate and ballot choice, to be designed as neutrally as possible, with bipartisan oversight and mutual agreement. Keep in mind that the viral load on the body from a full-blown infection could be considerably worse, if not lethal, and Covid is likely here to stay or will remain prevalent for years. Your chance of acquiring it goes up and up, so from my perspective, why take the risk if immunization is available? The potential for long term damage from Covid has been proven, with elevated stroke risk, brain inflammation, cardiovascular and lung damage, etc.

The conspiracy about population control through immunization also doesn't make a lick of sense to me, because mRNA is rapidly used up and vanishes from the body within days, and the spike proteins that your cells churn out are gradually degraded and removed after a few weeks, leaving nothing to be latently triggered by some heinous plan. The spike protein was also examined and doesn't resemble syncytin-1 (a placental protein) whatsoever, so it won't cause infertility like some initially feared. Normal births have already happened with vaccinated women. Fearmongers need to do their research, because as an initial skeptic, I did mine thoroughly and had my worries sufficiently relieved.

I am pro-choice, because it's eugenic and prevents unwanted pregnancies to lower IQ unwed mothers. I did some quick research and you're correct. Kill the Gays was never used by the Ugandans, but by Western media. The bill is still called Uganda Anti-Homosexuality Act, 2014. While not as bloodthirsty, it sends a resoundingly literal anti-homosexual message, and I wouldn't fault people there for protesting against that language regardless of the bill's actual intent. Looking around today, there really aren't that many stable alternatives with similar design, so this project you both took on couldn't have been timelier. Whole communities sought a place to regroup, and now we all get to come along for the ride - which thankfully isn't catastrophically tipping over from the load or eager to censor. I think that's how it often goes, nothing gets done until someone's finally frustrated enough that they say 'fuck it' and do it themselves. It's how I got started with game modding and learned basic coding, because I realized certain things could simply be done better, even by someone with comparatively little experience. Having that validated by others can rewarding too. I love to see my stuff downloaded and actively used.
