I saw that thread too, and used ceddit to see what had happened. They were discussing how admins could and would give free gold/silver to threads to make them take off.

The comments were deleted by moderators.

What subs would you guys like to make / have already made but don't have enough support? by slabgreen in SaidIt

I don't know if it's "unique" but for me, its the predictability. With a small dedicated community, you sort of know that the people that are there, are truly interested in the subject and not just there to shitpost.

On the other hand, with a larger community, the chance to learn something new grows exponentially, but you also run the risk of adding certain peoples opinion/shitposting, that you were trying to avoid in the first place.

For me, there isn't a specific sub I would like to bring over per se. It's more the people.

My point is, I used to be able to go into a thread starting with "what's your favourite bread" and the top comments would be discussing which submarine could stay under water the longest, because thats just the way the discussion evolved.

Now, all I get is "this thread is locked" or some boring answer thats in no way related to the titles question in the first place (lawyers/bakers/delivery men/women of X, whats the X time your job involved X? "I'm not X, but etc")

I hope Saidit would bring a fresh breath of air in that department, but only time will tell.

Ok, thanks again! Browsing by new on here really gave me the need for it, as some people definitely have some opinions I don't share here. And that's cool, they should have a platform for free speech, I just want to be able to choose not to see it :)

I got another quick question; is there any way to completely block certain users, so I don't see their content/comments? Some users go overboard and spam, trying to get banned by spewing profanities, and I would just prefer if I perhaps could click their name, and press "block/hide/ignore" etc.

They should have their say, but it doesn't mean I should be forced to see it. So if there is a way, please let me know!

I'm new here as well, "immigrated" from reddit. They are going too far with banning anything unfriendly to their ad-overlords. I don't believe anything extreme, but believe if I'm not a dick to people, they won't be a dick back.

I'm looking forward to spending many hours on this site, and am especially looking forward to seeing it more populated.

If I don't like a certain subs css theme, can I somehow deactivate it? On reddit, there was a box I could tick off, in the right side, and it switched the sub from whatever theme it had, to just a plain looking site. If there is such a feature, and I just blindly missed it, I apologize. I'm also sorry in case this is the wrong place to ask. It's my first day on this alternative from reddit.
