It's most of the front page everyday. It is obvious that there are rioters and looters in the streets of (some?) cities in the U.S.A. It is obvious that rioting and looting are bad. It doesn't need to be stated all the time. I would think that there are many greater insights that could be on the front page.

Use any of the other Invidious instances (I quite like Snopyta's for having the proxy video setting on by default).

r/Animemes still under fire and losing users. Every time mods take any action to address the crisis, the crisis escalates. by [deleted] in MeanwhileOnReddit

It's time to get the weebs onto Reddit alternatives. If you have enough karma to post on the Animemes subreddit, post memes promoting Reddit alternatives there (I did before the karma requirement). If not, post comments. The sub the weebs are migrating to, GoodAnimemes, requires permission to promote other websites (see rule 5), but just mentioning Reddit alternatives should be fine. (I asked the moderators for permission to promote and they denied it.)

Where Will You Draw The Line? ~ Ben Garrison by JasonCarswell in Coronavirus

[–]CompleteDoubterII 5 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

While the rant about globalist Illuminati and Gates' supercomputer is probably misinformation (I must admit I never looked into them much, thus the word probably), doesn't the cartoon present a valid point about government overreach and the destruction of civil liberties?

I do wonder why you would draw the line at conspiracy theories. I think there's good reason to believe that some of them are true. But those who refuse to debate science are relatively annoying.

The thing is that SCG said something, in one of his pieces, about updating the website 'before the fireworks begin' or something. It's late, and I have to go to bed now, but I'll find it on the Wayback Machine soon. I find it hard to believe he would take his sites down given that, and also due to the fact that it's probably going to be harder to give him donations now.

It's a shame, because he was probably the most solutions-oriented producer around, and is my favourite producer for that. It's a shame to see him likely lose the possibility of donations for his great work (especially in his permaculture project). He also got me down the rabbit hole in the first place.

I've posted a meme to GoodAnimemes promoting Reddit alternatives. It hasn't been removed, unlike my Animemes post.

Fair point. I've posted some of my own research (mathematics, Syria), but it cannot be considered thorough by any reasonable standard.

Okay, but doesn't that debunk the idea that it needs to be known? Most people on here already 'know'/believe it.

As in, I don't know what people think about leftists in real life, not that I don't know much about real life. I think it's obvious that most people dislike the rioters and looters, though.

A Discussion on Decentralization by CompleteDoubterII in DecentralizeAllThings

[–]CompleteDoubterII[S] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Decentralizing food production is relatively easy: for a street or whatever, someone can produce food. As things collapse and people (hopefully) realize the government won't provide for them, they will do this themselves.

To me, energy is the problem. What should we do? Not everyone can put solar panels on their houses, or can afford it. We can't rely on government electricity. My idea, so far, is that we put solar panels in the sunniest places available on the streets and share the power between buildings. But I don't know much science, and how to do anything like this. Can someone please respond?

Using SimplyTranslate the translation from the original document to the Reddit post seems to be correct (although I've only tried a couple of paragraphs). Interestingly enough, in spite of the website having an English language section I cannot find the analysis in English on their site; weird.
