It's most of the front page everyday. It is obvious that there are rioters and looters in the streets of (some?) cities in the U.S.A. It is obvious that rioting and looting are bad. It doesn't need to be stated all the time. I would think that there are many greater insights that could be on the front page.

I need to laugh. Saidit, pls share your personal favorite funny clips/videos that you go to for a laugh with me (obvs nothing violent or against site ToS)? by [deleted] in AskSaidIt

This skit never fails to give me a hearty laugh.

Use any of the other Invidious instances (I quite like Snopyta's for having the proxy video setting on by default).

Where Will You Draw The Line? ~ Ben Garrison by JasonCarswell in Coronavirus

While the rant about globalist Illuminati and Gates' supercomputer is probably misinformation (I must admit I never looked into them much, thus the word probably), doesn't the cartoon present a valid point about government overreach and the destruction of civil liberties?

I do wonder why you would draw the line at conspiracy theories. I think there's good reason to believe that some of them are true. But those who refuse to debate science are relatively annoying.

The thing is that SCG said something, in one of his pieces, about updating the website 'before the fireworks begin' or something. It's late, and I have to go to bed now, but I'll find it on the Wayback Machine soon. I find it hard to believe he would take his sites down given that, and also due to the fact that it's probably going to be harder to give him donations now.

It's a shame, because he was probably the most solutions-oriented producer around, and is my favourite producer for that. It's a shame to see him likely lose the possibility of donations for his great work (especially in his permaculture project). He also got me down the rabbit hole in the first place.

I've posted a meme to GoodAnimemes promoting Reddit alternatives. It hasn't been removed, unlike my Animemes post.

r/Animemes still under fire and losing users. Every time mods take any action to address the crisis, the crisis escalates. by [deleted] in MeanwhileOnReddit

It's time to get the weebs onto Reddit alternatives. If you have enough karma to post on the Animemes subreddit, post memes promoting Reddit alternatives there (I did before the karma requirement). If not, post comments. The sub the weebs are migrating to, GoodAnimemes, requires permission to promote other websites (see rule 5), but just mentioning Reddit alternatives should be fine. (I asked the moderators for permission to promote and they denied it.)

Join me in my noble quest...

Fair point. I've posted some of my own research (mathematics, Syria), but it cannot be considered thorough by any reasonable standard.

Okay, but doesn't that debunk the idea that it needs to be known? Most people on here already 'know'/believe it.

As in, I don't know what people think about leftists in real life, not that I don't know much about real life. I think it's obvious that most people dislike the rioters and looters, though.

'There's certainly no shortage of counter-narrative on SaidIt.' There's so many posts saying it's overblown that it is completely one-sided in my view. Nobody rational is going to be fully convinced of something by only looking at one side of the argument. Honestly, I would normally be annoyed with accounts like Rdh who consistently post only one side of the argument (and to some degree I am, especially at its refusal to debate science), but in the current state this sub is in, this poster is challenging the prevailing narrative and forcing people to actually debate the arguments put forth by pro-lockdown folks.

'I'm having a hard enough time with the one person IRL of the many non-believer folks I regularly see still performing the mask ritual.' What exactly is the mask ritual? Why is a non-believer performing it? I will guess that they believe corona is an overblown threat but wear a mask anyway. I don't really see how them wearing a mask is very bad, unless masks are harmful, which I heard about but never investigated. Get them to protest lockdowns and hand out leaflets about how useless it (apparently) proved to be and so on. Honestly, I think these lockdowns could be an opportunity to encourage people to get off government reliance. Get them to go off-grid and start learning how to grow their own food. Given the collapse, I don't think it would be hard to convince people government reliance is a bad idea.

Tremendous wisdom? I don't know. Your post says it's absurd to give up your job and stuff to protect those with terrible immune systems, so it starts off on the premise that corona is only risky to those in that state. You then claim they refusal to do proper tests. I don't know much about corona, so I can't say if either of those claims is true. Isolate the healthy is tyranny? I've heard it takes two weeks for symptoms to occur or something; it seems there is some kind of delay between symptoms and infection. How would they know if they are healthy or just delayed? Still, Bill Gates' involvement in corona stuff is very concerning.

'They lie for profit. Completely doubt them.' Yes, but I don't think nature is necessarily so kind as to only create mild viruses when there is a power-hungry government in place. Sometimes the best situation isn't a good one, but the least bad. Not that I'm certain this is the case here. Also, was that second sentence a reference to my username?
