I know that he identifies as a two year old, and the exemption he reads is for people under two, so even if the authorities take his declaration seriously, he won't be exempt. But the point he makes is an interesting one. I've heard of hospitals not treating biological women who identify as male as women to avoid offending transgender people, so will the authorities actually apply exemptions to people who sexually identify as people they apply to, even in the case that they're clearly not? Not that I've researched this transgender stuff thoroughly.

If the length of one side of a right triangle is fixed

Yes, your argument makes sense and is intuitive from there. But it requires one side's length to be fixed, so it's doesn't prove that only the angles generate a fixed ratio, and no intuition from that argument comes to me that can prove only the angles generate the ratio.

So this is basically a proof basic trigonometry is true (as I pointed out in the Reddit title). Honestly, I never really understood why everybody assumed/accepted this as intuitive; I found it to be a relatively huge leap in logic and counter-intuitive, so I thought up this proof myself.

One thing to note is the choice of direction. I mention lining them up vertically , but there is no reason to take this specific direction. As long as they are the same in one direction, it is fine, but I wrote up vertical to avoid becoming unnecessarily verbose.

STAT Argues That It Is Reasonable To Worry About Covid-19's Impact On The Heart And Potential Lasting Damage by CompleteDoubterII in Coronavirus

[–]CompleteDoubterII[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

At a glance:

The first study considered people infected with SARS-COV-2 'by reverse transcription–polymerase chain reaction on swab test of the upper respiratory tract'. The first question, then, is how reliable this test is. That would be determined by the false positive rate of the test. I know nothing about it, and don't care to investigate further.

The second study was on elderly people. Every time I asked people who thought the measures taken were an overreach, they said the elderly should have been isolated (meaning that they were at risk) [1][2][3]. Nothing controversial there. It identified people as having Covid-19 'post mortem by quantitative reverse transcriptase–polymerase chain reaction to detect SARS-CoV-2 RNA and performed from pharyngeal swabs'. Again, the first question is how reliable this is; its false positive rate. I wonder why they mention they did the diagnosis post-mortem. Is that important? The only possibility I can think of is that their corpses passed the test, but their living bodies wouldn't have.

I only posted this to promote the side that isn't being looked into thoroughly enough, in my view. I've no care to investigate this further. Those interested in Covid-19 can...

[–]CompleteDoubterII 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

You think the fact that it's one sided on Saidit shows people are seeking truth? I am relatively certain truth is found by looking at both sides of the argument. They should evaluate the M.S.M.'s (and alternative media's) arguments, not just believe their talking points. What I would consider truth-seeking is evaluations like mine (but of course I would believe I am rational).

This collapse was probably going to happen anyway (can't say I've been paying attention all these years). Honestly, how it's happening probably isn't important. What happens next is up to people. In other words, I see this as an opportunity (just like the lockdowns), sort of. Again, a collapse can and should encourage people to get off government reliance. This could happen enough to make the current U.S. government irrelevant, making them unable to put into action its harmful agenda. Of course, as StormCloudsGathering pointed out, this would require having the majority of the police on the people's side. The fact that the police are now a political issue makes this incredibly difficult to unite people on. This is a mess; I have no solutions.

I may be interested in co-modding Decentralize All Things. Its message resonates with me.

I'm saying the coronavirus sub is one-sided in that the vast majority of posts promote the idea that it's a scam, not all of Saidit. But the former fits better than the latter. The M.S.M. on corona is odd, as they very misleadingly present death statistics, but at the same time, as Kit Knightly noted, deaths being a substantial overestimate is a direct quote from Spectator (5 minutes in, if you forgot). The M.S.M. is very weird.

Your friend is unsure of the threat. So am I. I would recommend your friend to not wear a mask and socially distance. There are claims masks are harmful and they are not so absurd as to be rejected immediately (I would think; I recently didn't read much about masks apart from how they're now a political death match, which is ridiculous). Follow the social distancing protocols strictly, risking potentially severe lung damage isn't worth it. (I say potentially because I never looked into how severe the lung damage that corona supposedly causes is.) Although perhaps I'm biased because I never really go out with people, and because the vast majority of times I'm outside nobody else is (in other words, the recommended measures don't affect me at all, except that I may have to walk off a path for ten seconds). I would recommend your friend do the same; go out when nobody else/very few people are around. The measures don't affect you that way. As far as I know, no claim has been raised that getting corona-chan from a surface is a serious worry, so that's why I believe a mask isn't needed if you're alone (and Doctor Mike said it in this video I believe, and he believes the official story).

Perhaps I should make it clear, or in S.J.W. terms, acknowledge my privilege, in that the lockdowns closed stuff I never do nor wanted to do and cancelled a lot of my obligations and as such have given me far more freedom than it's taken away. I personally benefit from these lockdowns.

I will address the rest of your post later.

'There's certainly no shortage of counter-narrative on SaidIt.' There's so many posts saying it's overblown that it is completely one-sided in my view. Nobody rational is going to be fully convinced of something by only looking at one side of the argument. Honestly, I would normally be annoyed with accounts like Rdh who consistently post only one side of the argument (and to some degree I am, especially at its refusal to debate science), but in the current state this sub is in, this poster is challenging the prevailing narrative and forcing people to actually debate the arguments put forth by pro-lockdown folks.

'I'm having a hard enough time with the one person IRL of the many non-believer folks I regularly see still performing the mask ritual.' What exactly is the mask ritual? Why is a non-believer performing it? I will guess that they believe corona is an overblown threat but wear a mask anyway. I don't really see how them wearing a mask is very bad, unless masks are harmful, which I heard about but never investigated. Get them to protest lockdowns and hand out leaflets about how useless it (apparently) proved to be and so on. Honestly, I think these lockdowns could be an opportunity to encourage people to get off government reliance. Get them to go off-grid and start learning how to grow their own food. Given the collapse, I don't think it would be hard to convince people government reliance is a bad idea.

Tremendous wisdom? I don't know. Your post says it's absurd to give up your job and stuff to protect those with terrible immune systems, so it starts off on the premise that corona is only risky to those in that state. You then claim they refusal to do proper tests. I don't know much about corona, so I can't say if either of those claims is true. Isolate the healthy is tyranny? I've heard it takes two weeks for symptoms to occur or something; it seems there is some kind of delay between symptoms and infection. How would they know if they are healthy or just delayed? Still, Bill Gates' involvement in corona stuff is very concerning.

'They lie for profit. Completely doubt them.' Yes, but I don't think nature is necessarily so kind as to only create mild viruses when there is a power-hungry government in place. Sometimes the best situation isn't a good one, but the least bad. Not that I'm certain this is the case here. Also, was that second sentence a reference to my username?

Still, in the chance they are a normie, shouldn't you be able to convince Rdh to take your position? I do somewhat concur with Rdh on supposed 'science denial'; in my experience those who think Covid-19 is an overblown threat don't really debate science (source) (source) (you were the exception, until it became clear that I didn't have enough information to respond).
