"LOL, I wasn't surprised at the spelling. You just seem to have a curious nature and good insights to contribute. I guess that doesn't line up with my preconception of a below average IQ."

Thank you, I love hearing things like this. I'm always self-conscious about how I come across to other people so it's nice hear this type of thing. IRL all I've ever heard people say is how "stupid" and "slow" I am so it really helps.

"As for the NPD, thanks for sharing. I don't think NPD is evil;"

We need more people like you. The people I've spoken to online are more understanding then I thought they would been considering how stigmatised it is. Ironically enough my NPD makes me very ashamed of myself. I think a lot about what other people would think of if they knew about the diagnosis so it's so nice to see people being so understanding. I just wish more people could look beyond my mental health and see me for the person I really am.

"I just think there's a lot about it that I don't understand. I was in a very long term relationship quite a while back with someone who has diagnosed BPD, and that was a very difficult relationship to navigate until I couldn't keep going in it. Unsurprisingly, she had an abusive childhood and the mental abuse filtered down to me. I'm not angry about that so much as sad that she wasn't able to seek or accept help."

That's ok, you not a psychologist after all. BPD is a difficult condition and it's ok if you just couldn't go on with the relationship.

"My next relationship after her has been to someone who I consider to be a very good person, but who has a lot of health problems and coming out of that has told me that she has dissociative disorder,"

Disassociative identity disorder is not a real thing but ok.

"which she describes like seeing the world through a thick sheet of glass. She's good to me, but I find that there's an underlying thread there where she doesn't seem able to realize how cutting her opinions can be to others, as she simply presents them as 'honesty', to a level that I find upsetting (and hey, no saint here - I've got my own stuff too). There seems to be a lack of empathy there in being able to acknowledge other people's best efforts if they fall short of her standards. I'm not certain that she has NPD, but given my attraction to the previous person with BPD, it may be that I unconsciously have a 'type'."

Women... Am I right? She seems to lack social awareness but not necessarily empathy. I don't really have empathy but I can understand what is and isn't a socially acceptable thing to do or say and from what I've heard she doesn't have any of the other NPD traits like need for admiration, sensitivity to criticism and fantasizing of success.

"I'd be interested if you could elaborate on what you were saying about having bars between you and humanity."

I did in the original post. It was something I heard somewhere else. Having NPD is like having a barrier between you and everyone else. All I think about is myself and all I talk about is myself. Everyone else is like a secondary character and it's hard for me to empathize or care about them. I can like someone and I can understand when there sad but I can't empathize with them. When I was 12 my grandma died and I felt sad for a bit but I got over it in like 2 days and I didn't understand why the rest of my family cared that much. It's a problem I've had all my life and that's a hard thing to admit with NPD. I remember when my therapist told I had NPD I didn't believe him for months. I thought it must have been a misdiagnosis because it was hard to believe I had something as awful as NPD. Over time I came to terms with my diagnosis and I now understand that this isn't normal and that there's something deeply wrong with me.

"My apologies; I wasn't trying to suggest you do OnlyFans. It was really meant to be a joke directed at OnlyFans 'models'."

Apology accepted

"I don't know what I expected from someone who readily admits to a low IQ, but it certainly wasn't what you posted."

What do you mean? Are you surprised I could spell?

"You seem to be reflective and honestly interested in engaging with the crowd here. I appreciate your efforts to do that."

Thanks, it's a interesting community here once you get to talk to others.

"I particularly appreciated your AMA on NPD. not an easy thing to admit to oneself. I'm interested to know more about your experience in living with NPD, as I'm dealing with someone whom I suspect to also have that disorder."

Your welcome, it's not a easy thing to admit considering how stigmatized it is. It took me a long time to come to terms with my narcissistism and IQ so it's nice to see soo many understanding people. NPD is a difficult thing to live with. Not only because of the stigma but other things as well. It's like having bars between you and humanity. It's hard to relate to others or empathize with others. Your obsessed with yourself and think everyone is as interested in you as you are. Your like your own tiger parent. As for this person, what makes you think they have NPD? Everyone thinks anyone they don't has NPD🙄 but if they really do then be understanding. People with NPD aren't the horror movie characters that the media has made us out to be. There are lots of normal people who live with NPD.

Shit I completely forgot I made this thread, soz. Never, also I hate how having a low IQ is seen as a joke. People would never be okay with making jokes like about someone in a wheelchair or with down syndrome. A low IQ is a serious thing to live with it's more than just about being dumb or something it's like being disabled in your mind.

"Normal people." You telling me that people don't like getting money, attention and validation? So maybe not attention but who doesn't love money and validation? Who wouldn't want to be told there important and given money?

always been a word.

"'Hawk' means to sell something. Semantically implying devious actions involved in the transaction. Often something stolen can be referred to as being hawked."

I thought you ment like Hawk Tuah.

"In this case, OF whores sell their ass online. And I don't even have a problem with that, as long as they don't think they're entitled to respect for being the town's cum dumpster. Prior to the social media around 2009, sex workers knew their roles in society. They knew they were bottom-feeders and parasites in society just like their male counterparts who were criminals. While the 99% of everyone else actually wanted to do something valuable and useful for society. Nowadays, whores think they're obligated to "respect" for being whores. And you know how to spot the whores online? Always an "[x]girl" name. They want people to know they're women. But you say you're the exception."

I'm not a sex worker I'm worst I'm a cook at burger king 💀 but I agree with what your saying. I swear my eyes round to the back of my head when I see someone saying "respect sex workers" or something.

Well, who doesn't love getting attention, emotional validation and money? Some more then others sure tho. But for me it's a chronic need I have. I'm obsessed with being noticed by others. It's how I validate myself and it gives the self-esteem I need. I gravitate to simps because it's easy and there's have lots of benefits.

"hawk it"

Is that a word people used now?

That's not true I have seen people with "dude", "man" and "boy" in there username before. With people like 'gamerman2010', 'Uberboyo', 'dudesy' and 'GamerGuyd7Aces' but I see where your coming from. You've probably seen my thread about my NPD diagnosis so I'll admit your onto something. I do like getting attention and a way I do it is with men so maybe I did it subconsciously although I didn't really think about it at the time. It's also worth noting that I have histrionic personally disorder which is also common among people with a need for attention
