Friendship doesn't indicate bad faith or dishonesty. That's a stupid argument that pretty much just assumes that because a user is a certain way, any user that they're "friends" with on here is the same.

I in fact encourage this because I want them to report all of their infractions so I can ban them.

Absolute buzi tactics.

You're making a potential case of those users being dishonest/having alts by nature of bringing it up though. Your other users are going to be able to see that, and the ones with lower quality critical thinking skills might jump to conclusions and start on the accusation train. Before you consider anyone posting here as doing so in bad faith or under other alts, it seems reasonable that you (in your role as mod) to go research the user in question outside of your sub-- especially before openly commenting about it.

Why not? Having the inability to see massive red flags in people's behaviour IE being naive would certainly have expression in your romantic life. If this particular example upsets you, you can imagine that I said you will be routinely ripped off by shysters or something.

My initial response regarding masculinity was a joke that went over your head. It also proves to me that you don't really know anything about the userbase (outside of regulars) unless they pop up on your radar.

It is not irrational because it's well informed and it's not an assumption because I assumed nothing, I simply stated a possibility.

AmericanMuskrat is another mod from there that likes to troll this place in the exact same style socks and ActuallyNot does too. They're probably friends or alts of the same guy.

It's not well informed if you make every effort possible to ignore these people's activity outside of your sub.

I literally said exactly 1:1 what I meant, that you're naive if you think people trolling for >1 year are honest actors.

Then why use that example?

You're going to have people here with opinions that don't sidle up with yours, even among your own group. I'm not arguing the validity of some of your known and notorious trolls from your previous peddit spot. I'm pointing out that you're making irrational assumptions of users here being alts of other users because they're trolling. Reporting is a retarded copout either way, should be reserved for bots.

I hope you're not actually this naive, I'd hate to think what kind of things women will do to you if you're unable to see flags this bright red.

Don't let cases of women blowing shit out of proportion or even lying for the sake of retaliation obscure your view. I can honestly say that out of the many women that I've known, there's not been many that haven't at minimum experienced some level of molestation. That's not considering cases of women that will bring it up in an extremely awkward way, like where you can tell that they've got some degree of BPD going on and go off on a weird tangeant at social gatherings almost.. pridefully? It's so off and disconnected, and has happened in several different instances, and very much akin to attention-seeking tactics. My old male friend group had a lot of cluster B female orbiters though. Anyhow, yeah-- you'll see a bunch of these cases in the media, but that's not a realistic gauge for what's actually happening. Rape brings on a shame that a number of women would rather ignore than have to psychologically come to terms with and seek out the justice system for.

I'm not going to deny that there probably is a fear of being ignored with a number of rape cases. I recall talking to my grandmother about some rather fucked up situations where victims were chastised into staying silent for the sake of the man's family, even. So it wouldn't surprise if a black woman would be afraid of speaking up about rape from a white man. Rape isn't necessarily an attraction driven violence, and outside of that there are plenty of white men attracted to black women. However Daniel Holtzclaw is half Japanese, and would be considered a poc outside of the context where he's a criminal or it's convenient.

It can go either way with symptom presentation, and you can have asymptomatic diseases between both sexes-- so men won't always present with urethritis nor women with vaginitis. Women contract them more easily because of mucosal tissue, and granted there are some degree of protections there with the natural microbiome of the vagina, but if there's tissue microtearing (or worse with rape) compounded with the prevalence of rape, adultery, and lack of sanitation in developing countries, there's only so much protection you can get. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5437121/#idm139837157127552title

Traditional antibiotics are going to need a quick alternative. Honestly (and I need to look into it more) we should look into Ayurveda practices, and various herbal constituents first. There's a lot of promise there that needs to be tapped into.

Anyhow, unprotected sex is certainly not helping anything. I can't understand the thought processes behind most people, or why they rationalize risky sexual behavior. It's fucking nasty. Like literally the equivalent of letting a stranger spit in your mouth-- but nope, casual sex is celebrated. Awareness of the drivers of antibiotic resistance, particularly inappropriate antibiotic use, is low among the public and health professionals in most countries of the region.42 Unregulated antibiotic distribution and poor implementation of antibiotic stewardship programmes in humans 27 lead to overuse and misuse of antibiotics. Wastewater management is inadequate. About 75% of wastewater is not treated in the countries of the region and is directly released into the environment, thus contaminating natural drinking water sources where access to piped or improved water supplies is limited.37 Even when water is treated, the effectiveness of removal of contaminants is limited.33

I don't doubt that they made sure the testing was reliable within its context. I do see a somewhat worrying ongoing trend of people having an inflated sense of intelligence over these tests though. Not to mention the fact that even if a person tests within a range acceptible enough to boost the ego, it doesn't mean that they shouldn't still constantly be seeking out knowledge-- if nothing else, for the sake of knowing more about the world around you. Within the US, evidently because it's less likely to "cause allergy" according to this paper. Looks like there was a big plea to keep unnaturally bright red food coloring on the market. It's an auto download, so be forewarned.

https://cspinet.org/sites/default/files/attachment/food-dyes-rainbow-of-risks.pdf

However, around the same time, Secretary of Agriculture John R. Block was pressing his counterpart at the Department of Health and Human Services not to ban the dye (Food Chemical News May 28, 1984). He wrote, “Some segments of the agricultural community are quite dependent on Red Dye #3 in the processing and marketing of certain commodities, especially canned fruits. I have assured the affected industry that their concerns would be made known to you, as well as my own concern...” And in 1989, Congress, at the behest of growers and packers, temporarily prohibited the FDA from banning the dye (Washington Post July 19, 1989). Twenty-six years later, the FDA still has not acted. The harm that Red 3, an acknowledged animal carcinogen, is likely causing far out-weighs the minor nuisance entailed in banning the dye. It is worth noting that Red 3 has been seen as invaluable by some makers of maraschino cherries, but other brands are dyed with Red 40 or (shockingly) no added coloring, and some brands (Del Monte, Giant) of canned fruit cocktail contain cherries colored with natural colorings (un-fortunately, the natural colorings used, carmine or cochineal extract, can cause severe allergic reactions). The food industry and public would survive a ban quite easily.

It's that particular flavor of bitch. Working in an office is absolutely miserable when women like that work there. Gossipy, backstabby, and just lying in wait to pin their fuck ups on someone else. That said, many men I've worked with in an office had similarly nasty traits. Very self serving, conniving. I can't tell if you keep referring to him as an "it" in an attempt to dehumanize and insult him or what. Blocking is definitely the easiest route to save yourself some irritation either way.

Your arguments aren't based in facts, your arguments are based on information that you've read, processed, and regurgitated and framed in an abrasive format-- like the writing equivalent of resting bitchface. The reliability of that information is as questionable as the information that you refute. I disregard most of the videos out, because I don't give a shit what some scientist or medical professional says during a 15 minutes of fame interview, I want to see their studies and hold them up next to previously performed studies about similar diseases/disease responses/etc.. Perusing studies brings up a separate issue in that peer review isn't necessarily reliable anymore either and can easily just be signed off on, which is disheartening but ya know. The only real way to genuinely verify data is to perform experimentation on your own. Cognitive dissonance goes both ways though, and you're clearly not impervious to it so why act self righteous?

To which indigenous Europeans are you going to refer to in regards to plight? Most of Europe has systems in place to support their people, but many of these systems are now exploited. The reasons for that exploitment are going to be blatantly ignored by the majority of leftists because they benefit migrants. Most of them ignore the fact that Eastern Europe even exists, and how shitty a lot of things are with wages. People from the US probably assume that everything is more like Germany or further North, and that everyone lives in a melting pot of tolerance and acceptance with swanky living benefits.

Anyhow, you're not going to likely garner sympathy from them. You'll get arguments about white/euro privilege and other stupid shit.

It's not something that I'm thrilled about, and I'm sure that the censorship is less due to the fact that he's making any sort of incredible discoveries on his own-- and more likely that he's a threat towards the potential money machine offered by big medicine and big pharma. That's the case with really any form of alternative medicine, or focus on supplementation/herbalism. Studies are sort of smothered away into darker corners, and far less research is put into it to make it seem like it's less trustworthy.

Granting access to more complicated levels of experimentation to your average Joe is pretty dangerous though. You've gotta understand that yeah, a lot of those folks may identify as Christians, but that doesn't exactly make them great people, or dictate their parenting skills as adequate for today's standards.

Alright, did you read the entirety of the study that I linked over to you? I'll need to know what parts you're looking at and have questions on in particular to try to help. It goes over the immunomodulatory effects that vitamin D has, and how it's understood to be utilized within the immune response processes. So boosting the immune system likely just means making it more efficient, and providing it with adequate amounts of sufficient systemic vitamin D to use.

The extrarenal 1-α-hydroxylase enzyme in macrophages differs from the renal hydroxylase as it is not regulated by PTH[5]. Instead, it is dependent upon circulating levels of 25 D or it may be induced by cytokines such as IFN-γ, IL-1 or TNF-α[6]. Furthermore, the macrophage 24 hydroxylase enzyme is a non-functional splice variant, so there is no negative feedback of local 1,25 D production by 1,25 D.

Do we have high rates for illiteracy within the US over the age of 40? I know that it used to be more common, since it doesn't really bar you from working labor jobs-- but I was under the impression that things were significantly better than they were 40 years ago with literacy rates.

Not necessarily. Immune response is complicated as hell.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3166406/

Deficiency in vitamin D is associated with increased autoimmunity as well as an increased susceptibility to infection. As immune cells in autoimmune diseases are responsive to the ameliorative effects of vitamin D, the beneficial effects of supplementing vitamin D deficient individuals with autoimmune disease may extend beyond the effects on bone and calcium homeostasis.

Vitamin D has also been shown to facilitate progression of existing autoimmune disease. In one study, 161 patients with an early undifferentiated connective tissue disease were followed for a mean of over 2 years[25]. Most patients did not progress and remained in an undifferentiated state. Thirty-five (21%) patients went on to develop a defined rheumatologic diagnosis including RA, SLE, Mixed Connective Tissue Disease, and Sjogren’s Disease while 126 did not progress. Baseline characteristics of the two groups were similar. Importantly, the mean vitamin D level was significantly lower in the group that progressed to a definitive disease.

I don't know how expensive auto insurance is there vs here in the US. I know that we're required to have full coverage on any vehicle that isn't paid off. I keep it on mine anyway, especially after having my little car totalled 10 years back by a driver that wasn't carrying any (which fucked me over because my insurance was forced to pay for everything but /storytime). I'm also not positive how expensive car payments are there, nor what your mortgage amounts are for your home. I'm going to be honest with you though, all of the retirement payments are probably not going to help your situation. You can consider putting less in each pay period, and lengthening the finance amounts for both vehicles-- or even putting off vacations and paying them off entirely to reduce your monthly expenses considerably. Depending on the amount of time it takes to get your master's, you could also go that route-- but you'll likely have school loans from it that you'll have to plow through.

And if you follow Endosymbiosis Theory, we all started as sexless prokaryotic organisms that engulfed other prokaryotic organisms to utilize for intracellular tasks.

We share qualities with the creatures you've mentioned. We are, however, not these creatures and are capable of more complicated physiological processes and (at least as far as we know) higher cognitive abilities. Sex is sex. No matter what name we've given it, we're still two different complex components with completely different builds and no amount of pseudoscientific hogwash or LARPing is going to change that fact.

That said, attacking a user for referencing the source material that you brought to the table doesn't make sense, nor does it make sense for you to repost this article ceaselessly. They already started a decline in writing (and honestly even artistic) quality previous to new ownership too. Disney capitalized quite a bit with Marvel, I'm sure. DC/WB being picked up by AT&T was a signal to their imminent death/further failure. I don't think digital availability will help with collectors, however a big thing has been going on again for a few years now where variants are released for all sorts of minor events-- and it's drawing in a lot of people that are snatching them up to sell on ebay and unnaturally drive up values.

Honestly, a lot of publishers are seeing media options that work in tandem with the books now too. There's been decent quality shows that have come out of it all (excluding the basic capeshittery from Marvel and DC-- which still end up with quality good enough to be watchable for the masses).

I do hope you're right about these smaller publishers coming through though. It relies a lot on everyone getting their shit together on time, but dedicated fans will be patient once they latch onto material. You've got artists like.. I think it was Ben Templesmith that went on hiatus a few times when projects were due-- but I might be remembering wrong (also check him out if you haven't), and that can screw up things even worse for the smaller ops. I guess we'll just have to see where everything goes.

That's exactly why we don't see the same level of kinship among Asians. Within their own racial subgroups, they understand that there's not necessarily an automatic alliance simply because they come from the same continent. That's like comparing Eastern Europeans (whoops, I meant Hungarians. I hadn't eaten yet, dinner was ready and I rushed through my comment to start eating) to wanting to ally with Romanians, simply because they share a space. There's bad blood there.

It's dismissed because of solidarity. They still have a kinship that outranks bad deeds. On observation, it's very similar to the kinship that WN crave. Anyone not of tippity top stock recall reading how poorly lower classes of whites were treated by their betters (well.. now, even-- but mostly I'm referring to early 20th century and before)? It's that same level of dismissal, I would assume.

Comics are shorter, have increased in cost, and the ones from the bigger publishers are the same dog shit repackaged with an LGBTQ-approval sticker on top. They've become heavily politicized. If you want decent comics, download a Previews and look at independent publishers. Manga doesn't suffer the same fate, at least not until Westerners start trying to dig their claws in and force everything into the same PC hellscape. They've abused the shit out of the isekai genre-- with anime too, but still manage to crank out better than the DC's 52 rehashed 5 times, or Marvel's.. just Marvel everything.

Masks and so on are good countermeasures to respiratory diseases, no?

It sort of depends. Cloth masks don't really have pores small enough to block out a lot of microorganisms though. Here's a study done in 2015 and there's a lot of info here:

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4420971/

The trend for all outcomes showed the lowest rates of infection in the medical mask group and the highest rates in the cloth mask arm. The study design does not allow us to determine whether medical masks had efficacy or whether cloth masks were detrimental to HCWs by causing an increase in infection risk. Either possibility, or a combination of both effects, could explain our results. It is also unknown whether the rates of infection observed in the cloth mask arm are the same or higher than in HCWs who do not wear a mask, as almost all participants in the control arm used a mask. The physical properties of a cloth mask, reuse, the frequency and effectiveness of cleaning, and increased moisture retention, may potentially increase the infection risk for HCWs. The virus may survive on the surface of the facemasks,29 and modelling studies have quantified the contamination levels of masks.30 Self-contamination through repeated use and improper doffing is possible. For example, a contaminated cloth mask may transfer pathogen from the mask to the bare hands of the wearer. We also showed that filtration was extremely poor (almost 0%) for the cloth masks. Observations during SARS suggested double-masking and other practices increased the risk of infection because of moisture, liquid diffusion and pathogen retention.31 These effects may be associated with cloth masks.

Not unless they're in an environment where sterile procedures are used, or a few other situations. Can you think of a time when a nurse or lab tech performed an invasive procedure, even more lightly invasive-- like taking blood for labs, where they wore masks before Covid? I'm guessing that it's meant to mean that you're not saying things that you truly agree with, and that you're adhering to a narrative that isn't necessarily your own-- one considered harmful, etc..

The issue is unwillingness to understand that not everyone feels the same. When both parties in an argument fervently believe that they're correct, they consider their opponent to be either woefully misguided, stupid, a troll, or a shill. Hilariously, no one likely has it all figured out. We create an armour out of our personal philosophies, and get all in a tizzy when someone tries to take a shot though.
