I dont think any individual or groups of people are intending it to happen. The culture is always shifting. And in our current culture there's large swaths of people who suffer from very low self-esteem and to remedy their low self-esteem they try desperately to be hip. Also in our current culture it's hip to be a marginalized minority.

Seems obvious that if it were possible for people to change their skin color lots of self hating white people would take that opportunity in a second to be a part of a more hip ethnicity. Of course that's not feasible or culturally acceptable but being trans is.

This may seem like an irrelevant example but to me i think it's a very telling example of the whole social media culture how quickly people are to use new acronyms. It's insane and very moronic but people do this thing nowadays where they're so desperate to be hip that they use brand new, made up acronyms that they know most people have never heard. Because most people never heard of it. All out of a severe desperation to be hip.

As Bill Maher says in his new rule segment, it's the parents causing this effect on their own children more than anything else in places like LA. And i think those parents cause that effect out of a desire to be hip. Though i'm sure a lot of the time it may not be because of the parents but just other environmental factors in kid's lives.

So the obvious implication of this title "Kremlin official says West has declared 'total war' on Russia" is that Kremlin isn't the instigator of war but the west has instigated war on them. The west is doing everything in it's power to hurt russia WITHOUT getting into war with russia, that's the whole point. So there's obviously a ton of irony in that claim the Kremlin is making. The title is just begging for people to point out that irony which everybody is doing, if you look around at the other top comments theyre all saying the same thing, pointing out how that's ironic.

Lived in Israel from age 7-22, my parents and siblings still live there, jewish on all sides of my family, raised modern orthodox jewish, was in a yeshiva for high school, my brother and a lot of my cousins are pretty much hassidic jews. Put on tefillin every morning while i was in Yeshiva. As for banking, my late granddad on my mom's side was a really rich banker. For example, every morning in Yeshiva we'd start out our day with 1.5 hours of studying the talmud. I probably know about a billion times more about Judaism than you.

In Israel, high schools take their senior year students to Poland to visit the concentration camps, so i experienced that as well. That same granddad who was a banker was also a holocaust survivor from Poland and practically his whole village was killed including his extended family. And he wrote an autobiography about all of his experiences as well.

Edit: Being absolutely certain of things that you can't actually be absolutely certain about is iffy. And maybe it's natural in situations like these for people to dig their heels in and try to put up a front of acting more confident than we are. So there, i'll be man enough to admit it first i'm not absolutely certain. But that is kinda what the occam's razor concept implies... just go with what's more likely until you get new evidence.

My hunch is that there is a pretty long backstory in your life that would shed light on why you believe this stuff or want to believe it. I'm an American jew who's lived 15 years (half my life) in Israel but now i'm back in the US and it wasn't by my choice it was just my parent's decisions. But do you put yourself in the shoes of the people on the other side? There was the holocaust (many holocaust deniers on Saidit, yes it's that bad) and then Israel's been attacked a bunch by the surrounding arab countries and fought wars with them as well as suffering a gazillion terrorist attacks. That absolutely isn't the position i have a problem with. That's actually the position that made me think at the start that i might even get along with you guys. It hasn't been enough time for evolution to have changed the way we're hardwired so if it's possible that people are born trans now it would also be possible back then and that seems 100% impossible to me. It would be like going now to an indigenous tribe that's untouched by civilization and expecting to find trans people there. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER. This kind of shit is just environmental. The human mind is very fucking malleable... neuroplasticity and all that shit. We change a lot depending on our environment.

So if people aren't born trans, i don't think the solution should be them changing their body. I think the solution should be trying to reverse the damage they got from their fucked up environments instead of going along with it and accepting it.

To give 1 example of GC's craziness you guys have twisted things in your heads so much that you somehow managed to convince yourselves that REDDIT WHICH IS INSANELY LEFTIST is somehow misogynistic. Which is the most perfect example of you guys victimizing yourselves.

This community got quite a bit worse when Reddit got rid of the Terfs. Something so weird about the fact that even though i'm a jew all the jew hate didn't bother me nearly as much as the Terfs' insanity. Out of all the groups of people that Reddit's kicked out and joined Saidit the Terfs stand out because they have the insanity of the far left but actually go ever further. In the sense that they want to stand on the 1st place podium in the oppression Olympics and they can't stand sharing any spotlight with other groups like trans.

I think maybe it's a case of people being too adopting of that saying; "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". They think; Well if Reddit didn't like them then they must have some merit because we hate Reddit a LOT. Not saying i think the solution is censorship, but they weren't a problem on Reddit in the way they're a problem for Saidit. Because there they are 0.001% of the Reddit population whereas here they're a much bigger fraction. My point being that even though i hate a lot about Reddit doesn't mean everybody Reddit has a problem with, is my friend.
