It is fetishisation, and as an object of the fetish I find it insulting and dehumanising ... BUT sexual fantasies are what they are - I can partly understand why it speaks to some women, particularly given the treatment of women in relation to sex in society.

But women reading yaoi or gay fanfiction doesn't necessarily mean that two men together or men at all is a part of their sexual fantasies.

But there are no gay men in these stories to sympathise with. There are only women and thier projections dancing for the sexual pleasure of other women.

I've seen slash fanfiction (which is mostly written by women) of characters originally created by men, sometimes even gay men.

It is no different for men watching lesbian porn made for straight guys. They are not watching lesbians, they are watching two women perform for thier sexual pleasure.

I wouldn't really say that the two are the same, at least not entirely. I would have to say that yaoi and related genres such as slash fanfiction have more in common with cheesy romance novels and romantic movies like Titanic than with hardcore porn. Porn aimed at men tends to be more focused on sex, whereas women's tends to be more focused on romance with sex as an added bonus. Most women that I've met who are into yaoi or slash fanfiction are focused on the romance between the two characters, although there are women who just read it for the sex.

I wouldn't necessarily say that she is fetishizing gay relationships via yaoi. It's entirely possible that she genuinely relates to the men in these stories in some fashion and has misunderstood this as being mentally a man herself. Perhaps she has a lack of female role models or the role models she does have leave much to be desired. This is a bit embarrassing, but I too was into yaoi at one time, and still favor ships that involve men. You would expect from this information that I would be either heterosexual or bisexual, but actually I have no interest in men and am likely either asexual or a lesbian.

1) It matters because by not being born male, trans men don't have the same identity or experiences as cis men, especially not cis gay men. Trans men grew up as girls and women, and society is more forgiving of gender nonconformity and homosexuality in females than it is in males.

2) Little girls don't get told that they shouldn't cry, that they can't wear certain clothes, that they need to "act like a man", or that they're sissies for liking things made for girls and women. Gay boys and men worry about getting beat up for being perceived as gay, girls and women don't. All boys and girls regardless of sexuality are socialized a certain way.

3) First off, it's fairly easy to tell if someone is trans once you know what to look for. What I mean by society not seeing them as really men or women is that they aren't treated the way cis men and women are. A cis man that gets in a fight with a trans gay man is more likely to go easier on them than if they were fighting another cis man. Society tends to be more okay with their "gay" relationships because it's seen as "straight but with extra steps". The same does not hold true for trans women. Trans men are seen in the same light as tomboys and lesbians, as silly women who will eventually grow out of their sillyness and settle down with a good man. Trans women are seen in the same light as effeminate boys and gay men. If society truly saw them as real men and women, they would treat them as such.

I'm pretty sure that wanting to kill "facists" (most of which aren't either facist or antisemitic) makes you the facist.

I don't know why they keep asking questions they already know the answer to.

So, they often feel as predators but don't do nothing about it by blackrainbow in LGBDropTheT

You know, most people don't worry about being a predator, so if you feel that way, maybe you are one?🤷‍♀️

Sexuality is a personality trait, according to commenters on r/lgbt (but not upvotes?) by reluctant_commenter in LGBDropTheT

I really, really hate how being a part of certain demographics have become political stances. Being gay, Black, or whatever has nothing to do with politics.

I fantasize about women when I masturbate, but I spend a lot of time in my own little world, so I don't stare at or get butterflies with anyone. There was one time when I was talking to a woman and felt hot, like someone had turned a heater to its highest setting, but I'm pretty sure I was just anxious at the time.

Not asking if I'm a lesbian, just what sexual attraction is and feels like.

Why It’s Transphobic to Deny Attraction to Transgender People - an article that I found. What a load of bullshit. by [deleted] in LGBDropTheT

They don't seem to realize that a good chunk of those people don't actually seem them as the gender they claim to be. The only reason they're saying those things is out of either pity, wokeness, or to keep their personal/professional lives in tact. If any of those people were ever in a position where a trans person asked them out, they would have several excuses on hand as to why they won't date them.

Ah, another argument I've seen coming from TRA's as of late: "The gay and lesbian labels are voluntary self descriptors!" by Smolders1 in LGBDropTheT

While I do think sexuality can be fluid for some people, it's obvious that it's rare. The vast majority of people remain the same sexuality they've always been.

This has always bugged me. If you "identify" as say asexual, and it turns out you're actually straight, you were never asexual in the first place.
