Yep, from what I’ve seen, AGP guys lie constantly anyway. Probably has a lot to do with the comorbidity of narcissistic traits, exhibitionism, and attention seeking. A lot of their “validation” tales are very much “everyone clapped” fodder.

I do believe that parents who enforce strict gender roles and shame their children for being different are causing long lasting psychological harm and that TRAs capitalize on that with the “egg” thing and how they target minors to recruit.

The “trans trending” which I think is different from AGP, might fall into this category of young people being utterly confused by all the mixed messages they are receiving. I very much believe AGP would lie or prey on young people who feel out of place in terms of gender roles, and spin tales to pull them in to the idea of transitioning. I figured you were prob. making an analogy with the Cultural Revolution era, and I agree that TRAs really are that aggressive. The smashing statues or monuments thing is not unique to Woke tactics, however. Emmett Till’s memorial plaque gets vandalized and shot through with bullet holes every few weeks after it’s replaced, including by University of Mississippi frat boys, and they’re about the opposite of Woke. Where I live, vocal TRAs are a non-entity so far (thank goodness) but even slightly gender role-divergent men (such as your BF) and women will get plenty of nasty comments from church going good ole boy types. I totally agree. I know lots of men, both LGB and straight, who are not stereotypical “manly man” types in a variety of ways, from style to personality, hobbies, relationship roles, etc. and they have gotten SO much shit for it, it’s ridiculous.

This is one of my many issues with the idea that conservatives and radfems can find much common ground on gender critical issues because they see gender roles as innately biological in nature and immutable. Conservatism shames gender-noncomforming men and women both, and makes them feel that something is wrong with them.

Being a “feminine” man is especially bad, since being a woman is “bad.” Pussy, mangina, “pull the tampon out”...men love to shame other men for being a “woman,” which they think is the ultimate insult (another would be to imply they are gay by using anti-gay slurs, since gay men’s maleness was always questioned regardless of what they looked like). As you said, toxic masculinity.

“Butch” or gender non-conforming women in general are not really treated any better. They commit the “crime” of not performing femininity and catering to the male gaze. Assertive women must “secretly have a dick,” or want to castrate men, have penis envy, and on and on.

The fact that libfems and TRAs are reinforcing such antiquated ideas on gender roles is incredibly dangerous for young people, and the only way fight back is to make GNC people feel accepted by the mainstream while railing against the TRAs to protect women’s spaces and rights and ban surgeries for underage kids, etc..

The “transbian” autogynophiles are a separate category, I think, which has been discussed here many times in reference to Blanchard’s typology, which I don’t know thoroughly, but something needs to be done to assess the number of young people identifying as trans because of being GNC, and how many are men with paraphilias who are not really GNC. Just making that distinction could keep so many GNC people from being “transed” and certainly do a lot to protect women.

I do like the idea of working together specifically on trans issues, as long as that doesn’t include a directive to vote Republican. Noticed a lot of comments in GC saying the best way forward is to vote for Trump. Don’t want to tell anyone how to vote, but I‘m personally very skeptical of that for the reasons I mentioned.

She wouldn’t listen to me, so another friend and I reported her for child endangerment. I watched her daughter countless times just to keep her away from these randos. A relative is asking for custody and I hope she can get it, and that my friend can finally go for counseling.

I still wish her the best because she received such a horrible start in life but for her to endanger her daughter the same way enraged and depressed me. I truly believe she has histrionic personality disorder.

I’ve always thought the teen girl obsession over male musicians, all the way back to Elvis and the Beatles, was mainly a kind of socially acceptable way for them to channel their lust. Sure, they enjoyed the music, but my friends covered their rooms with posters of “hot” boy bands in the 90s and 00s and certainly spent a LOT of time talking about said hotness amongst themselves, lol. Elvis wasn’t supposed to show the lower half of his body dancing on TV, but there were screaming hordes of girls who didn’t mind his alleged “indecency,” which certainly worried some of their parents.

Meanwhile, it was and still is considered fine and normal for boys to openly talk about jerking off to Playboy or whatever (now hardcore porn instead), rate women on scales, and joke about trying to bang as many girls as they can, especially from the 60s/sexual revolution onward, while girls were still slut-shamed for every breath they took. Girls could revert back to the 50s and say such-and-such male celebrity was “dreamy” and not get shamed for it. Male-driven media and society wasn’t ready for them to admit much else.

Someone on there is actually saying that the anti-porn subs are for “SWERFs” who hate sex workers. Talk about cognitive dissonance. I know that there are a couple anti-porn subs that are male dominated and pretty misogynistic and racist, but the feminist-moderated ones are absolutely NOT.

Feminist subs are against the degradation, abuse, and exploitation of women in porn and prostitution- period. In fact, I’ve read many comments from women who have become radical feminists after their horrible experiences with porn producers, actors, and johns. What kind of doublespeak is it to say that criticizing the degradation of women (at the hands of men) is “anti-sex worker”? I guarantee they’d tell any sex worker who announced she is a rad fem to “shut up, Karen” (aka shut up, c*nt) and “this is a sex-positive space.” 🙄

It’s a great post! I’ve come across wayyy too many who people fervently believe that GC feminism is the opposite of what it really is and that “terfs” reject gender-nonconforming people. I have no idea where they get this bizarre notion, but it’s a crucial one to dispel. As soon as I read about what GC feminism really is when I first found the Reddit sub, everything clicked.

ALL of this! I’m GC because I think gender roles are extremely archaic, damaging, and make for a dull world. I’ve never fit into those boxes and most people don’t.

I’ve always found it ironic that the people pushing rigid gender roles are either ultra-conservatives who believe women are “naturally submissive”, intellectually inferior baby machines, or “woke” TRA’s trying to transition every kindergarten boy who likes pink and tutus. “Lady brain” is bullshit. I hope in the not too distant future that we can look back on this era and recognize its sheer insanity and regressiveness.
