The CDC lumped in deaths from chinese fentanyl that contaminate the illegal drug supply with prescription opioid deaths to make it seem like a crisis.

Now it's next to impossible to get legitimate pain relief and surprise surprise, the death rate from opioids is only going up.

There was a problem with pill mills like 10 years ago. This isn't about saving lives though, behind the scenes are a ton of lawsuits. It's about money. Taking care of junkies is expensive and local governments are trying to stick the bill to Big Pharma.

We were supposed to hang out that Friday. He lived on our couch for years when his trust fund ran out. He got his first job and started supporting his family.

We didn't have a lot of money in those days. He had bought a couple of 40s as a treat for us. They were just waiting in the fridge...

He was staying in a friend's apartment, she moved out but was still on the hook for the lease. He got up, started the shower, undressed, but died on the couch.

I think he'd appreciate he died before going to work.
