I remember seeing a few people on here concerned that crimes committed by trans identified men would be lumped into the crime statistics for women and perhaps begin to skew the data. I didn't think it was likely to happen because even if they didn't "misgender" the person in the article they specify that the individual was trans.

If not differentiating trans men/women from men/women becomes widespread it might actually happen.

Also, how do you accidentally use gorilla glue at this point? Come the fuck on, this guy obviously heard about the first idiot.

Like other commenters I am super confused as to why the author would put herself through pregnancy, a 9 month long reminder of her biological sex, if it's "so dysphoric". Baffling.

This part is just super weird for me:

My favorite is "fact" three. It's hypocritical when they bring up gender policing when they're the biggest enforcers of gender stereotypes.

I'm sure many athletic women have been called too masculine or manly, but at the end of the day biological sex is pretty easy to prove so anyone who claims "she's too good at a sport, must be a man" would easily be proven wrong if the person in question is biologically female. It's basically a non-issue, the only thing getting hurt by not allowing trans identified men compete in women's sports is those men's feelings. I fail to see how allowing biological men compete with women is at all beneficial to women when the outcome will be all top "female" athletes will be men.

I would say you're absolutely not being irrational. While I have not experienced sexual trauma and have no reason to fear or feel distrustful of men on sight, I definitely have a problem with a man who thinks he can get into single sex spaces just by saying he's a woman.

I've definitely started feeling even more strongly about this since seeing people correcting people for misgendering rapists. "Yes this person did a horrible thing but we shouldn't misgender". Uhm if this was a man who identifies as a man, they wouldn't care a bit and would even be calling for his death but since it's a delusional man who thinks he's a woman suddenly they need to be treated with respect? Nah, a rapist is a rapist. Even if it's disrespectful to misgender (I don't think it is), why, WHY would you feel it's appropriate to correct it on a post or article about rape? He's not the victim here, he's the perpetrator.

I really hope their willingness to defend and force people to respect the delusions of rapists will only serve to peak more people.

Have you seen some of the posts defending the idea that trans women can lactate and therefore breastfeed? I believe it has something to do with taking more hormones but I don't remember exactly.

I have never breastfed but I was under the impression there are many medications you shouldn't take while breastfeeding. I'm very certain artificial hormones should fall under that category. Whatever "milk" they produce would surely be lacking in proper nutrients and full of whatever hormones theyre pumping into themselves.

But fuck the baby who doesn't have a say as long as this transwoman feels valid and gender euphoric, I guess.

I can only imagine this poor child will have a baffling number of mental health issues, compounded by the inevitable bullying having the name "Zoomer" will attract. Unless this next generation somehow does a complete 180 and every kid is super polite and respectful.

I'll bet a huge number of children like this will end up in some "raised by narcissists" groups when they're older.

Like I'm all for letting your kid play with whatever toys they want and even wearing whatever they want (as long as it's appropriate), but why form their identity around their preferences? These people are raising their kids with stricter gender restrictions than we've seen in a few generations. But in a weird way I guess this particular couple genuinely let him decide, as opposed to assuming that if he liked pink or dolls he had to be a girl.

So true! And, at least today, being excluded from some groups or events is totally okay and isn't usually disrespectful or an act of discrimination.

This mentality that absolutely everything has to be all inclusive or it's evil/transphobic is bullshit. Men can have clubs/groups separate from women, doesn't mean the group is inherently sexist, same for women. Taking away the ability to gather based on shared enjoyments or experiences in the name of making everyone feel welcome and "valid" (anyone else REALLY hate that word anymore?) is ridiculous.

Especially in online forums for dating, because people have sexualities dictated by....biological sex. Which you can't identify into or out of. Males have no place in a forum for lesbians. And it's not a hate crime to say that.

How is it progressive to encourage young, confused girls who may not feel "girly enough" to get double mastectomies because they don't like their bodies or periods and then pump them full of testosterone? Wild. I believe its because nobody wants to feel even the slightest bit of discomfort anymore and will go to great lengths to avoid it. Puberty is supposed to be uncomfortable. And if we just totally got rid of the ideas of what's deemed "feminine enough" and "masculine enough" we might have less confused people.

I can't understand where the trans people even fit in in feminism, it makes much more sense that they don't and never have. I do feel for the LGB people who are lumped in with that group, how does trans fit into a group that is about defining your sexuality? Trans isn't a sexuality.

I've grown up thinking gender stereotypes are bad and we need to move away from them as much as possible. It blows my mind that here people are, saying if a boy likes to play with dolls when he's younger that means he's actually a girl. Way to hammer in that outdated way of thinking that girls have to like dolls and pink, and not allowing boys to like anything that's not trucks and tools. It's so damaging to males and females to encourage this narrow view and I don't understand how people don't see it.

I would say there's SOME sanity going on in the comments. I kept seeing ones that were like "well it's about her economic status right? The way OP worded could be seen as transphobic, etc". I can't believe people were defending this very selfish individual who never grew up poor, as a girl, or underprivileged in any way. Dana's validation as a woman seemed more important to a lot of those commenters than the fact that this event was on the brink of cancellation because of Dana's whining.

Why do people not understand that saying a transwoman did not have the same experience growing up as a biological woman is not hate? It's fact.

Silencing all of these women is anti-women. I don't really consider myself too feminist, but this sub provides some sanity in an online world that has gone insane. Shutting down women who are raising legitimate concerns and not at all spouting any real hate or bigotry all in the name of wokeness is dangerous and needs to stop.

I'm glad she's standing her ground, she has a lot on the line but she's still not giving in to the bullying and attempts to silence. We need more people doing this, eventually it won't be as risky to spread facts and share opposing opinions.

I started lurking at the Gender Critical subreddit a while ago, I was sad to see it was banned. I would say this was a peak moment for me in itself. Having seen the posts on there, I didn't see that any of it was hate speech or dehumanizing in any way. Anything that questions the trans movement is a huge no no on the internet. Great free speech there.

The hatred shown towards JK Rowling even after (especially after) her essay in response to the outrage of her latest tweet was definitely a huge peak moment for me. A woman being silenced, insulted, and threatened for daring to stand by scientific fact and biological reality really grinded my gears. And through that hearing about biological women who lost their jobs for believing science and voicing and standing by that belief? Important peak moments.

Boiling womanhood down to essentially "I feel like a woman so I am one regardless of any other factors" is a huge peak moment for me too. How does one feel like a woman? I don't even know. How do you feel like a man? Man and woman isn't a feeling.

Trying to find any articles or opinions questioning the trans movement at all is almost impossible, so when I found myself questioning a lot of what I was seeing i googled opposing positions and had a lot of trouble finding anything that wasn't supporting trans or "debunking" opposing views. Calling people terfs or transphobes when they so much as question the TRA narrative, utilizing cancel culture to silence any attempt at rational discord about the trans movement is frustrating and was a huge force in pushing me to be gender critical.

I didn't want to write a damn essay but when I started naming peak moments it got harder and harder to stop lol. I don't hate trans people and I believe they should receive all rights and protections everyone else has. But I don't agree with their attempt to rewrite history, biology, and language to suit their needs.
