I think censorship creates more of an echo chamber, but the voting creates an echo chamber within the echo chamber. It's basically a system where only approved speech can be uttered, while the most unpopular of approved speech gets downvoted. It's a method to keep pushing the conversation to a more narrow window.

Eliminating the military completely would only cover less than a quarter of the cost of expanding medicare to everyone. Our taxes would have to go up dramatically to make it happen. Bailouts are a fraction of a percent of our budget, so that wouldn't help much either. It's just a ridiculously expensive program for a sickly, obese population like the US. And we are in enormous debt and deficit as it is.

The only way to make it work without bankrupting us is to enforce legal health requirements, like diet and exercise, banning smoking and drinking. Or add in massive fat taxes and vice taxes to cover the economic expense. That one actually might work fine...

Edit: so I did the rough math. The program would cost about $3t on the low end. Fast food, alcohol and tobacco sales combine to about $600b so a 500% tax on those things would completely cover the cost of the program. And likely reduce the future costs. Or start a revolution. One or the other.

Oh, you're preaching to the choir here. I definitely don't want the platforms i enjoy to get torn down, but I've come to peace with that being reality, and I make an effort to keep my eye out for a few replacements at all times. Saidit, Voat, and Poal all got added to my radar a couple years ago when Reddit started cracking down on the subs I enjoyed. Transitioning over was easy.

Now that I say this, I realize how similar this is to white flight. As soon as an area I live in starts going to shit, I pick a few new areas I'm prepared to move to. Even start spending a little time there ahead of time.

My comment may not be correct in your specific case, but it's factual, in general. I've spent a ton of time researching the endocrine system. I've read literally hundreds of published medical studies and tens of thousands of forum posts on the subject. Sorry for the giant disclaimer, but I want to pass on some info that is important for everyone to know. It's regarding OPs improved mood in the beginning.

As far as taking estrogens (specifically E2/estradiol) people OFTEN report improved mood and health when initially taking it. A lot of the improved health and mood of guys going on TRT in the beginning is from the increase in E2 levels. In the beginning only. When E2 levels are out of range on either side (or even the highs and lows of the "normal" range) people feel terrible. I've had low E2 before and life was miserable. Horrible fatigue, depression, and joint pain. So when TiMs report immediately feeling better when going on E, it's from the likelihood that they had low E to begin with. Often from having low T. T is converted to E via aromatase and when T is low, E is low almost always. Then. TiMs go out of range for their sex and start turning into everything we get to experience. No longer happy. Full of hate for everyone. Blaming their new emotions on transphobia. This last part is my take, but the other stuff is supported thoroughly with user experiences and studies. This is also the experience of steroid and TRT patients who don't start taking aromatase inhibitors when E2 spikes after a couple weeks. We know this as roid rage. Unstable emotions from unnaturally high E2, coupled with the violent aggression of high T. Fun stuff. What baffles me is how little endocrinological analysis is done for people looking to transition. Sometimes absolutely zero.

The one TiM (and "lesbian") I personally know, went through this exact same cycle. Got on E, was happy as hell, then suddenly became the office tyrant. No one wants to talk to him anymore. He is bitter and starts conflict over pretty much anything. Fortunately I relocated and he's not part of my life other than through communication channels occasionally. Everyone still complains about him to me though.

Long ass post to just say that HRT for TiMs commonly start as a positive experience before going negative. Just like what OP experienced.

As a married man, I was programmed the exact same way. From early childhood, my grandma was beating into my head that I was supposed to support a woman and marry her. I wish someone would have told me how stupid the concept was, but society had the exact same message. I think marriage is a horrific deal for both parties. More people are catching on though, and we are seeing a record low in marriage rates.

Fair question, and, what looks like an honest attempt at a conversation. Almost surprising...

So my opinion on this is that politicians don't need experience in politics to do the job. They need experience in leadership, since decision making, temperament, and personnel management skills will determine their competence. To me, a career politician is someone who might never had to develop any of those skills, just learned the game of power. But they might not even be good at it. Most of the politicians got to where they were at because of their connections or their usefulness to the true rulers. Meanwhile, the knowledge that a politician needs can either be learned in the first week, or acquired from competent advisors.

I don't believe Trump is a great example of someone who DOES have the skills to be a politician. If he was, he would have maintained the same support he had from Hollywood and the media right before he decided to switch to a republican and run for president. The black community and liberals that all loved him wouldn't have abandoned him and started the most massive smear campaign in US history. That fact that he can't explain his position for shit doesn't help either. I agree with nearly all of his political moves, but he completely fails at drawing the appropriate support for them. That's a shitty leader.

Regarding Biden, I don't know enough about his decision making skills, but he fails the temperament test. He likely fails at personnel management considering his lack of experience (did he lead anyone as VP? I could be wrong here) and that he didn't do a great job with leading a family if his kid is a deadbeat dad, junkie and obvious criminal. I haven't seen a single thing from him that impresses me, and his political ideology is endless totalitarianism, so he will never get my support.

Not going to act like any of the libertarians I vote for would have been amazing leaders, but at least they operating under sound ideologies that would make this country a better place. Which is probably what everyone else thinks when they go vote for their "lesser of two evils" presidential pick.

The defense budget isn't even close to covering the cost of universal healthcare in any of the estimates. As far as the spending on alcohol, tobacco, and fast food, I just searched "us spending on [insert item]" and grabbed the first figure I saw for a recent year. That's what happens during violent revolutions. See all of the violent revolutions in history. The aggressive side kills the side that is perceived as harming society. If we have a violent revolution it will be one of two things. 1. A commie revolution where rich people, police, and landlords are murdered and their wealth is stolen. White conservatives, regardless of wealth, will often be mislabeled as wealthy so that they can be executed without push back from the mob. 2. A social revolution, similar to Nazi Germany. Jews, LGBT, and pedos will be the main targets, with white "liberals" being included as traitors. Niggers will be mostly exported, but some will be executed and some will get a pass. Hispanics will be split by the left vs. right paradigm as well as specific ethnicity. Asians will be given a pass. Potentially leaving all non-whites that stay here in a specific region. This is known as balkanisation.

Those are the most likely scenarios, at least. But anything can happen.
