Eliminating the military completely would only cover less than a quarter of the cost of expanding medicare to everyone. Our taxes would have to go up dramatically to make it happen. Bailouts are a fraction of a percent of our budget, so that wouldn't help much either. It's just a ridiculously expensive program for a sickly, obese population like the US. And we are in enormous debt and deficit as it is.

The only way to make it work without bankrupting us is to enforce legal health requirements, like diet and exercise, banning smoking and drinking. Or add in massive fat taxes and vice taxes to cover the economic expense. That one actually might work fine...

Edit: so I did the rough math. The program would cost about $3t on the low end. Fast food, alcohol and tobacco sales combine to about $600b so a 500% tax on those things would completely cover the cost of the program. And likely reduce the future costs. Or start a revolution. One or the other.

Solid comment. I agree that psych terms get overused and get grouped in with modern day "intellectual" name calling. Right up there with racist, sexist, anti-semite, etc... True or not, they do this to stifle honest conversation and debate. It's no different than name calling as a kid, but they get to hide being the appearance of criticism instead of deliberate insulting.

And, like you, I have a fuckton of criticism towards modern day psychology/psychiatry. It's just population control and behavior control in the end. Sure, some good things come of it. But I doubt that the average goal is to actually help an individual. My deepest criticism is with marriage counseling, but I won't get into that. Actually, that might be my second deepest criticism. Psychiatrists prescribing meds to people that just need to change their lifestyle or get medical treatment for endocrinological problems is probably number one for me. It's criminal in my mind.

I'm guessing you already know this too, but it's worth mentioning that CDC guidance told coroners to label anyone that died from a non-injury and had covid in their system, as a covid death. This goes against the entire history of coroner's cause of death determinations. I can imagine 90% or more of the covid death statistics are bullshit.

That would be amazing if it happened, but it would take a lot of coordinated effort. And you're right, it's pure commie propaganda coming out of the left right now.

As far as Trump being a libertarian, my main argument against that is he supported red flag laws and bump stock bans, and he didn't do anything to remove the endless unconstitutional 2A restrictions that fed, state and local governments have enacted. He should be working on a bill right now to put an end to 2A restrictions.

He supported the enormous spending bills during this covid situation, which costs our taxpayers trillions. He has increased spending overall, as well.

He also has not deregulated drugs, which would be pretty crucial. He should end the war on drugs and the war on pain patients. I appreciate him attempting to deregulate some parts of the healthcare system, like with experimental treatments for terminal patients. That's a plus.

And he supports enormous Israel welfare programs, BUT at least he is actively working on getting us out of paying for garbage like the WHO and UN. He needs to cut Israel off though.

I agree he is the most libertarian president in modern times, which is why I encourage people to vote for him. Especially over Biden. But I wouldn't call him an actual libertarian.
