/u/soundsituation thanks for the interesting article. I'm worried that older eggs could carry an increased risk to the health of the baby. Every scientific advance should be thoroughly considered from an ethical standpoint. Women and men are biologically different in that women don't produce new eggs while men do produce new sperm. This is an exciting scientific breakthrough but I feel some caution should be used. Still extending the miracle of creating life is wonderful.

Glad you enjoyed the article. I share your concerns - this could be wonderful or dangerous or some mix of tradeoffs. I'm excited about it though. If this works it wouldn't just extend the window of fertility; it could reduce or delay the risk of developing osteoporosis, heart disease, dementia, and alopecia.
