The optimist in me says that perhaps a small group of feds staged Epstein's death so he could secretly divulge his knowledge to them without fear of retribution, in return for some kind of deal.

The pessimist in me says that the guard is just wrong about him being switched out, and the trip van was simply a way to get assassins into the building to kill Epstein. Which is far more likely.

Yep he was never locked up, nobody dares to lock up billionaires for obvious reasons. I also want 1 million but they could kill me for 30k.

I would assume inmate transfer vehicle. I know a prison guard, usually it's at least a 2 man team; one driving, one armed guarding the prisoner.
