I really understand where you're coming from. I don't see how people can be so cruel or unethical to other humans. Usually things are done in the name of dogma to convince themselves it is the right thing, no matter the cost. But there are those rare gems of people that are 1/10,000 that do understand what compassion is and know ethical behavior. They may not be the smartest or funniest but they can really help people that need to see that there is a soul in someone out there. I'm a shit person, but at least I know I am.

Your description about bullies in school reminded me of this anime called Elfen Lied. There is a scene where these kids (I think it was at an orphanage actually) were bullying this girl for being different. Turns out she really was different, not human, and she slaughtered them because there was no reason for her not to.
