What impresses me most about this is that for three days she was so drunk that she never once thought of removing the damn chili herself.

Actually I reckon there's a 20% chance this was some BDSM kink sex game gone wrong, and the doctor writing the paper has misrepresented it to something more ideologically acceptable.
