I went as the same thing that I've been going as since '16, which is quite possibly the scariest thing alive to some people; a straight, white male who won't vote Democrat.

I would like the entirety of Saidit to note I am not the one asking for tit pics this time. My reputation has been much maligned.

See the smiley face, I was just joking. Sorry if you took it literally.

Nah, I wanted someone to ask instead of me. Smiley face or no I feel like that box has been checked.

I stayed home dressed as a grumpy old man.

Great!

I don’t do Halloween. Too old.

Your never too old for Halloween if anything Halloween gets better as you get older. Halloween is just Christmas for adults

[–]Canbot 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Christmas is Christmas for adults. Adults have families. They have kids. They have responsibilities which they care for. They put in the work to build a life and now get to enjoy the love and joy of their own family and friends.

People who party into their older years are desperately holding on to childhood joys because they failed to build anything of adult value to get joy from. Sorry to be that guy, but it's better to accept reality because that gives you the opportunity to make it better.

Edit: I'm not trying to talk shit, I went out to the bars and clubs dressed as a pirate. It was fun, but I would trade that in a heartbeat to take my non existent kids out collecting candy. And it does not hold a candle to celebrating Christmas with the family. That's a goal we should not let go of by deluding ourselves that holloween debauchery is a potential replacement.

Ok, adults like Christmas too but you got to admit it's very expensive and a lot of stress. Christmas is mostly a kids thing because it's the kids who benefit the most and Christmas is more family orientated while Halloween is more about dark things like scary ghosts, demons, sexy costumes and parties also parents party too. What do you think happens after the trick or treating? Simpsons joked about this once.

I'm an Aussie. We only really see 2 or 3 kids on the street on Halloween because it's not an Australia holiday. I was also dressed sexy, but I can't help that.

I can't believe there are places that don't have Halloween. It's like there's entire nations who hate fun

[–]NastyWetSmear 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I guess I'm kinda misrepresenting it. It's not an Australian holiday, but the stores are still selling Halloween stuff and people still have parties. Not Many parties, but kids and teenagers are always throwing them. If you put decorations out you'll usually get 1 or 2 knocks on the door. Most houses have nothing up, but every, say, 20th house will have a skeleton or some lights or something.

I have to admit, of all the holidays we don't have, Halloween is the most fun! I'm never upset to see a kid dressed up as something running around having a blast... But it does arrive towards the start of summer here, so sometimes it's also so bloody hot that the idea of leaving the AC is pretty scary.

I want to dress up as a bumbling dimwitted idiot but unsure what one, Biden or trump.
