Finally, as a bisexual male, I've had this sentiment a long time now as well. Pride isn't about anything else than oppression olympics and hating on those that are straight. The fact that they're doing their best to spread pride to children is just creepy as fuck. Children don't need to be exposed to this at a young age, because they cannot understand the deeper implications. Same as you wouldn't take a kid to a strip club either!

Edit: Actually, yeah.. seems like this group is associating with nazis and Qanon, no thanks: https://www.businessinsider.com/proud-boys-2022-break-records-anti-lgbtq-protests-extremism-watchdog-2023-1?r=US&IR=T

I've found that Business Insider is not a reliable source upon which to base my opinions.

Then I suggest you look up the other 20+ links at the footer of this article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gays_Against_Groomers

Of course a lot of it is obviously biased extreme leftie shit, but there's enough decently reputable sources in there that I'm confident in saying that I'm not going to associate with that nazi/MAGA group. The only thing I hate more than woke SJWs screeching about censorship and defending trancels are the MAGA crowd who think Trump is the Best American Evar.

Alright, use your reading comprension please. I said to check the links at the END of the article. I don't trust Wikipedia in the least, I initially assumed it was a smear article like the gamergate one. But when I'd checked enough of those links, it was obvious this wasn't just some leftie blogs.

Wikipedia isn't the best source either when trying to find any facts about anything political these days, IMHO. Looking in the "talk" part of the page, there's a lot of back and forth about labeling it a "far-right" org. 'Conservative' might be a better label, though I'd say it was small-c, not big-C conservative. I'm saying this as a left leaning Canadian.

Anyhow, we're here to discuss and debate, and I appreciate your perspective.

Also, and it belabours the original point to say, but you obviously don't have to endorse Gays Against Groomers to walk away from Pride. These sorts of things really only gain momentum when ordinary people, not special interest groups or clubs, decide they've had enough.

No, wikipedia is biased as fuck, that's why you should check the links at the end which lead to various sources, both good and bad.

And on that note, I definitely do not support pride as it is today in any shape way or form. They've become the very thing they said they were fighting.

Wikipedia is great for pop culture, basic science, and ancient history.

For anything recent and political it is completely and utterly colonized by wokies and three letter agency shills and you have to interpret it as propaganda, not neutral fact. Anything that goes against the woke agenda is "far right extremist" and if you once said hello to the brother of a man who went to school with a nazi, you're "associated with" nazis.

Look at the language used in the Wikipedia article. It's guilt by association: Proud Boys turned up to a Gays Against Groomer rally therefore GAG are far right extremists like Proud Boys. Literally anyone can turn up to the rallies.

You don't have to agree with everything that GAG say or do to recognise a hit piece against them. Personally I think that they're too quick to accuse TRAs of pedophilia without evidence, but the label "far right" is being used here as a pure slur with no real meaning in this case.

Gays Against Groomers are a single-issue group that includes people from all over the political spectrum who believe that teachers, doctors, therapists etc should not groom gender non-conforming children into irreversible surgery and risky puberty blockers. I'm sure it does include far right people, but it also includes left wingers, moderates, apolitical people, and mostly people who consider themselves politically homeless but are rightfully concerned about so-called "gender affirming care" and schools showing sexually themed drag shows and explicit pornographic materials to children.

It includes gays who believe that the trans industry -- and don't be fooled, transitioning children is an industry potentially worth billions of dollars a year in medical and surgical fees -- is the new conversion therapy, with the message being "your not a gay boy, you're a trans girl" (and likewise for lesbians).
