In 2017, Dr. Y.H. Percival Zhang was arrested by the FBI (has been released in 2019). The federal government accused Dr. Zhang of over twenty counts[example needed]. Dr. Zhang then resigned from his position at Virginia Tech. Since then, Virginia Tech stopped publishing the result of the sugar battery study.

In 2019, Dr. Zhang was acquitted of 19 counts but found guilty of conspiring to commit federal grant fraud.[5]

Since 2014, Several Chinese universities, including Zhejiang University and Tianjin University, started working on researches on the sugar battery.

I can understand why the CCP would be interested in the technology, since it directly competes with their rare-earth mineral interests in regards to the current state of 'green' tech. If a bio-chem based energy source can be developed and made practical, then it essentially becomes ubiquitous because most countries would be able to create the fuel for it with a degree of gearing in their supply chains. I mean, if your country has any kind of agriculture, you can produce the maltodextrin. You can't do that with copper, lithium, cobalt, or any of the other materials that go into other tech.

Does the FBI work for the CCP then?

Probably.

They both serve the WEF directly, so essentially, yes.

If that technology works. We really should immediately swap. From batteries to sugar fuel cells. I mean real high quality sugar is already lower price than gas. I bet they could mass produce this kind really cheap. Then just plant enough trees or whatever to consume the co2.'

Big oil and tech are gonna kill so many scientists XD

This is probably better filed in s/conspiracy

Yeah this is definite s/conspiracy

Sugar for batteries is obvious actually. Any chemical reaction that can produce some movement of electrons can be used as a battery. The issues are mostly around costs and performance. There's no great solution to battery tech right now.
