I've got an original aga oven but that thing takes half a forest to even get lukewarm. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? It's had the ashes cleaned out so it's not that.

You say the ashes were cleaned out. Did you also clean the soot out of the exhaust pipe? Soot will cause the inside diameter of the pipe to shrink, reducing air flow.
