‘Less clumpy’ universe may suggest existence of mysterious forces. "God made it" is obviously not an option.

No, it can't be like all the other times we realized our mathematical models of space were wrong and created more accurate ones to replace them. This time it's really god!!! Every time we don't know something it's god until we figure it out and then the next thing we don't know is definitely god!!!! For realsies this time
