The reason this is shocking is that society teaches that there are no natural differences between men and women (and if you disagree they call you evil/stupid) and men get attached to companions.

I think you are missing the mark, but it is in a very nuanced yet important way.

First, you are right that only women and children are loved unconditionally. That is made clear by the way all women say they don't want a "man child". It is just another way of saying they will never take care of a man because they don't respect or love a man who can't take care of himself.

But women do want companionship. They want an attractive, intelligent, stylish, whitty, ambitious, active, talented, etc etc etc etc man who will entertain them and give them all his attention. Marriages also end when a guy loses all those qualities too. It just take a much longer time.

A young woman will date a guy, and sleep with a guy if he is physically attractive and fun to be with even if he isn't financially stable because she is looking for a good time. But that is in fact the problem.

Humans have evolved to pair bond through sex. A woman who has sex with a man she will not stay with gives up the ability to ever trully love the man she ends up with.

The collapse of the family structure is primarily caused by the normalization of premarital sex. That can be seen in the skyrocketing divorce rates long before the modern propaganda.

But you will not get anywhere with most women if you are an ugly, short dorky doctor. Women do want more, and demanding more allows them to pretend they aren't gold diggers.

    I was prescribed benzos, I took them as directed by a medical professional. After ten years of being on them my then current doctor dodged my attempts to do the usual refill, and eventually sent me a letter saying they "fired me" just as I was succumbing to withdrawal from the physical dependency. I don't remember the next three months. I am so interestingly enough going to the doctor on Monday I was trying to call to prevent that. They said I made an appointment but never showed. I tried.

    But I was speaking to how you've fucked up every relationship you've ever been in and your children want nothing to do with you. It doesn't lend you credibility in the relationship advice department.

    Two things are wrong here. First women don't immediately leave a guy when he gets sick. When you frame the situation like that you scuttle your own argument because you make it untrue. Yes, women innitiate most divorce because of the man's loss of job. But you are taking that fact and extrapolating it too far. You are taking it into the absurd.

    Lots of men get cancer and thier wives and girlfriends stay by their side. That proves your caricature of the situation wrong.

    Second, you are conflating "love" with "unconditional love". She does love you, but "you" is not just the physical body. It is what you do. How you act. And, yes, it includes how capable you are.

    By using the word love instead of unconditional love your claim becomes false.

    That is like arguing that you don't own your house because you have to pay taxes on it. That is a low IQ understanding of the world. There are a lot of differences between owning a home and renting them and it is stupid to ignore all of that because taxes exist.
