Yep, this is why I'm thinking of buying a diesel vehicle next, they will be converted to hydrogen.

They are? That's interesting!

i don't know the extent of it, but i feel like hydrogen is the answer because the rich people shy away from it. like pharma stays away from cures and promotes band-aids for diseases. big oil and auto makers don't want to touch it cuz they're still making billions on oil

I'm not super bullish on it but I agree it's far better tech than an electric car.

Electric cars are basically only good for city driving. But ideally well designed cities should be planning on building robust public transportation networks instead of the NIMBY inspired nonsense that is the environmentalist infatuation with electric cars. It's like the animal rights anti-hunting activist that says they buy cruelty free meat from the grocery store. They don't want to see the cow die, nobody does, but they don't gaf if it's happening under happy happy cruelty free branding, out of sight out of mind. I don't like seeing smog and other pollutants from cars either, but I'm not going to pretend that an all electric car clean air city is preferable when the cost is child slavery for lithium and massive boosts in coal based electrical production to meet demand. Electric car adoption is arguably worse for the planet than gasoline at this point. Hydrogen cell cars are a much more desirable option. But there are still major infrastructure problems.

What I want to see is a fucking nuclear powered car though.

I don’t know what a nuclear powered car would look like, but I’m willing to bet Al Queida would like to see one too. Lol

Yup. I spoke with a roughneck about 2 years just bullshiting about Wells and such and he said dude the future is hydrogen. I guess they can extract it from nat gas.

Yea. Most abundant resource on earth. And it can be extracted relatively easily.

Basically, if we used nuclear power, and put a few plants next to the ocean, we would have unlimited hydrogen to power our cars.

Yep, totally agree

It’s like nuclear power: the persona non gratia. The only question is why? The argument is that it is not economical is incredible, because they were were willing lockdown the world's economies for a practical cold. Also they are willing to kill people and destroy economies for climate change. As uneconomical (supposedly) as hydrogen fuel is, it is certainly more economical than what they are doing right now.

Yea I dunno.

I’m on board the nuclear train too. Build 50 large plants in each 50 states. Enough to power each state.

Traffic accidents would be bangin! It'd also cost trillions in infrastructure costs to support hydrogen fuel. I'm not really sold.

I'm not sure why we can't just engineer yeast to assemble hydrocarbon chains from whatever biomass is convienient.

Or something that would be an effective and efficient substitution for the natural process that produces oil.

I’m not convinced we need to move on from oil. Unless our alien overlords are making us move on.

But, I think a few nuclear power plants on the beach could produce enough electricity to make some fuel.

We could certainly benefit from cleaner engines at the very least. Lots of people in urban areas suffer from vehicle pollution.

Look at that. That’s a great reason.

Sure, a hydrogen boat might float very well, but I think getting lifted on a hydrogen balloon is also exciting.

Just kidding, you're right.

Meantime though, gold and silver!
