That process is so jacked up. They encode a plastic card, which you take to a kiosk that accepts it and lets you vote on a touchscreen. The kiosk prints out a piece of paper that has a QR code, but also shows the people I voted for in plain text!
Then I bring the printout to yet another poll worker, who runs it face up through a scanner. (What happened to secret ballot?)
Too many unnecessary steps performed by humans. I should be able to walk into a kiosk, scan my ID, vote, and see the county totals update in real time. I should get a receipt with an anonymous vote ID that I can later verify on a website or via a public records request. No paper trail and no human interaction. Total ability to audit it all afterwards.

Plus it runs Windows and MS Access and can easily be hacked.
