Greenhouses gasses are a real phenomenon, we have released loads of CO2 and it has certiainly played some role in the warming climate.

That being said, the climate models are dubious, and their have been plenty of dire predictions that didn't turn out to be true (on the correct timeline), which does significant damage to the cause by impugning the credibility of things that are true. Yes the icecaps are melting, no they weren't gone by 2010, the alarmism backed by studies that imbue their work with ideology rather than remain objective, by blurring the lines between established fact and educated guess, have done immeasurable damage to the cause

Much the same a during covid, the modellers were quite open about the fact that they only modelled the worst cast scenario because, by their logic, if the best case scenario happened no one would need to do anything so it wasn't important to look into it.

They never thing to look for the most likely scenario or give the probabilities of their predictions happening.

They only model the worst cases then say "this will happen if the figures we used are correct".

Indeed, in the case of COVID projections, the excuse was that they used the best data that they had at the time which led to a gross overestimate of British COVID related deaths by around 200,000. Further predictions once again exceeded reality after not learning from the first predictions.

With climate models, data is taken selectively and makes use of extreme locations such as airports, something that did not occur in the past. When temperature data does not include these extreme locations, not only do the predicted temperatures almost flatline, some are even lower than ten years ago.

The point I've tried making with muh chicken is that prediction models are only as accurate as the data you put in and the desired result. If the data is selective, skewed or inconsistent, if the desired result is apocalyptic, then we end up with model results that will never be realised. Thus, my references to Al Gore, who also incorrectly predicted the extinction of polar bears only for them to thrive in recent years.

Yeah, like I said, take that up with NASA and you will sound like an autistic two year old. They will show you the exit door in about two minutes, because you are talking with your ass.

NASA has satellites in space and they have the most advanced sensors available, but somehow your stupid ass thinks you know better than NASA.

You, my friend, have taken fagtard to a new level.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 3 fun1 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

But I don't want to visit NASA...

[–]chickenz[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I don't guess you do, because if you talk that technical bullshit to them they will bitch slap you and strap you to the next outbound rocket sled..

Just fyi, NASA is only a phone call away..

Fkng baby.

i am assuming that you are familiar with NASA, the company that builds rockets and shuttles and satellites? they say that the earth's oceans are rising by one hundred millimeters since 1993 and that they are rising steadily every year.

https://climate.nasa.gov/vital-signs/sea-level/

they would be very unlikely to fudge on those numbers.

if those numbers are correct, florida will soon be under water as will texas and much of the southern united states.

this will mean that many people will be bankrupted, and when they try to withdraw funds from our current ponzi investment schemes... it means that the dominoes will come crashing down.

our governments know about these issues and i assure you that some very smart kids with multiples of phd's have sat down and crunched the numbers and that is why they have created a fake virus and locked down the entire world.. this is their solution to slow down the global implosion of our economies.

i studied economics at the university of fuck you.

trading is now in progress.

They're a very environmentally friendly agency, those giant penis rockets pump out nothing but flaming hot homosexual pixie dust and unicorn farts.

[–]chickenz[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

You are a fkn screwball.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

children debate a topic by tossing insults.

please continue.

[–]chickenz[S] 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (6 children)

That is technically what they do..

Technically, children toss tantrums when they don't or can't get their way... Adults toss tantrums by tossing insults.

This serves as an indication to me that you are admitting defeat in a debate and the insults are a last ditch effort on your part.

NASA outranks your opinions about rising sea levels, by a million miles.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

I had no idea we were still debating after you resorted to calling me a screwball.

[–]chickenz[S] 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

We never were debating... I explained to you that NASA has data that says that the oceans are rising, and have risen by 100 millimeters since the early nineties.

If you want to debate that, take it up with NASA.. I am sure that they will be impressed with your satire/smartass comments.. those NASA engineers love to joke and play about data.. hey, be sure to let em know that you are pals with Satan, because that will get you a shitton of brownie points with their engineers.

Let me know how your debate with NASA works out.

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

So what's your point? I didn't discredit the sea level data of 100mm rise.

I have criticized the connection between global warming and human activity, which NASA stated as the cause of the sea level rise on the link you provided. It is theorised as the cause and any science which contradicts this is disregarded by those who want the world to end tomorrow.

I have also criticized prediction models that typically exceed expectations to promote fear and to keep funding the government with endless supplies of carbon taxes. Tell me again how much green levies contribute to my energy bill costs?

I don't give a fk what you say

You are standing on the lower deck of the titanic and the water is rising and you are going to argue forever about where is the water coming from and why is the boat leaking water.

Go fuck yourself.

just fyi, the polar ice caps are indeed melting...

this video is a time-lapse of 48 years of the glaciers melting.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=he5QzhE7_g4

from the youtube comments:

from 1790 when Vancouver measured the glacier in glacier bay Alaska to the 1870 's when John muir went there , the glacier retreated more than 5 miles and shrank by half , when atmospheric co2 was well below 300 ppm . the 1950's to the 1970's were second only to the little ice age for the coldest temperatures in the last 10,000 years . 1980 was peak arctic glaciation .

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (10 children)

It sure is, it melts every year due to seasonal ice changes, something something summer.

[–]chickenz[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (9 children)

You must not have good reading comprehension.

NASA says that the world's oceans have risen 100 millimeters since the early nineties.

I suspect that if NASA says that the ocean is getting deeper, they probably have capable engineers that would understand if that level was gonna drop back down

Tell me again about how you are smarter than NASA, I enjoy hearing that I am chatting an engineer that outperforms NASA.

You are fkn smart.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

Ii just implied that the prediction that the ice caps would have disappeared by 2010-1013 was evidently incorrect. This can be evidenced by the presence of ice caps. Are you suggesting that they completely melted? That would like be a conspiracy theory, do you also believe in flat earth?

[–]chickenz[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

If you are on the titanic and you are told that the ship will be under water in thirty minutes, but it is still ten feet from sinking 40 minutes later, will you be bothered that the captains estimate was not accurate, or will you be preparing to abandon ship?

Truth is, I don't give a fk what you do, but let's just say that smart money is getting the fk out of Florida.

NASA says the global sea levels are rising, and you can be a complete numpty and watch the time lapse videos if the glaciers melting over the previous several decades.

The glaciers ain't gonna grow back, as you insist.

I always wanted to live by the coast, now the coast will come to me! 😂

[–]chickenz[S] 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (5 children)

I am becoming convinced that you have an agenda to convince others that NASA is not as smart as you are.

Somehow, I doubt that.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

You got that from me wanting to live by the seaside? 🏖️

[–]chickenz[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Aside from hanging out with these fagtard wanna be engineers, you are most likely going to find out that engineers from the "real world" will hand to you your ass on a platter just about the time you start flapping your stupid mouth with those satire /smartass two year old remarks.

Good luck chatting with those NASA boys.

Tldr; hongkongphooey's childish bullshit ideas about science only holds water when he is behind his keyboard and a modem.. he would get his ass whooped in the real world if he tries that childish crap with real engineers.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Does this mean we are friends now? 😂
