It you are an incompetent hunter gatherer you die very quickly.

Not true. One could provide for themselves in the outdoors, without competence in gathering hunters.

Right, but not competent, in gathering, hunters.

Accumulating hunters. Isn't useful.

Except maybe for building an army.
But not for survival on the land.
