Well if you're willing to take random crap, why not just do it properly and get a prescription for amphetamines for a few weeks, you'll burn a whole lot more. There are plenty of stimulants that can increase the burning of calories while reducing appetite.

I’m trying to build muscle. It’s a pre workout.

I’ll talk to my doctor about it.

I work out a lot. I hike about 10 miles a week. I know I have to step it up for weight loss. I’m at the gym 5 days a week. And I eat healthy.

If you have any sincere suggestions, I’ll take them. But I probably wouldent take any drugs like that. The stuff I posted is amino acids. And it to help get energy to muscles.

Yea I’m fat. But I’m not looking for any dramatic weight loss. I’m looking for building muscles and slow weight loss iver a few years.

I think we’re all going to starve next winter. So I want to keep my fat around till after that.

L-carnitine seems to decrease how well thyroid hormone works in the body. - WebMD

This could be a problem for your intended purpose, if taken in high quantity or for long/sporadic usage.

The reason I move towards drugs in place of supplements such as this is due to their unpredictable and often ineffective results compared to either long term healthy diet and vitamins or short term intensive stimulant use. So long as you avoid using any kind of steroid, you'll be better off just managing with diet and exercise than hoping an amino acid will help achieve these results. Going to the gym 5 times a week resulting in excess fat indicates too high a calorie intake, eat less.

You suggest NOT taking steroids, right?

I do eat to much. I am aware.

But I have been fat for a long time, and women love me. Fat for me isn’t a body image problem, I’m more worried about my health long term.

You mean like use cocaine?

I never questioned your motives or meant any criticism. You stated you wished to reduce level of fat, so rationale seemed irrelevant. You sought opinions and I gave mine. Calorie intake vs calories burned will always be the easiest and most sensible way to manage body mass over supplements.

Speaking from experience of trying mild amino acids, supplements and various vitamin combinations, I rarely saw benefit other than placebo. I know stimulants work, but as you are doing this for long term health, I guess this isn't advisable, I wasn't aware this was your aim at the time I first posted. I mean, your title refers to horse drugs...

As per the stimulant recommendation...Nicotine is an effective appetite suppressant and stimulant, for example, just a bitch to quit.

I could use those pouches. I have quit a lot.

I think if I want to take weight cutting more seriously, I’ll try coffee and the nicotine pouches.

Could try normal gum as a habit, it's said to work. The worst bit is getting used to the idea of being hungry. I'm at the high end of my max BMI, basically I get a bit of a beer gut. Whenever I cut the gut down, I just skip a meal a day and switch out foods for salad. It's amazing how we get so used to never truly being hungry, we just kinda go onto autopilot and just shovel food at given times. I mean, we need to feed the gym obviously, else we'd wipeout, but half the time I just get into bad habits. Keep your energy levels up, but definitely go with self discipline on meals.

Yea. I like the replace meals with salad.

Do you eat out or make food at home?
