I'll give you my raw real take on immigration since I don't ever hear anyone else making these points

It is a matter of fact that immigration depresses wages by increasing the labor supply, raises the cost of rent by increasing housing demand, is an enormous burden on social services, and destabilizes the regions that bear the brunt of it. The Democrats don't want to admit this is a real problem, but we all know it is.

Now the other part of this that nobody talks about, is that this is precisely what we have bargained for with our policy approaches in South America. We have been doing coups of democratically elected leaders, installing puppet dictators, economic embargos, and creating the cartels with our drug wars. Mostly in an effort to stop any of those countries from ever attempting anything that looks like socialism, not because of ideological reasons, but because we can't exploit their national resources and labor if they nationalize the resources and food production.

The American standard of living and GDP per capita is higher than countries in Europe, largely because we still have an entire continent to exploit with imperialism, and they no longer do.

This is the real tradeoff here. Is the increased standard of living that we benefit from by exploiting South America greater than the costs of the ensuing immigration from those destabilized regions. Also, which Americans are gaining from these policies, and which are paying the price from the immigration? These are the real issues underlying the immigration problem, but it is never framed in this way.

As for the immigrants themselves, I'd prefer we did our best to prevent immigration, but I think we have an obligation to treat these people humanely, as they are the ones paying the price for our policies and our higher living standards

Man. Every time you decide to lay it out, it really is impressive.

I feel that you hit the nail on the head.

We fucked South America. It is a bit of our burden. It’s kinda like sweet justice, especially for the Hispanics.

I still don’t think labor camps are a bad idea though. Like real nice labor camps.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (13 children)

They might prefer that to detention centers or living in fear of drug cartels or immigration enforcement.

Its a mess and we made it. I really don't know what the answer is though, its a complicated issue. DeSantis and Abbot bringing attention to the problem is at least a start, but i doubt anyone on either side wants to discuss the role our policies have in perpetuating this problem.

Americans will suffer without the cheap energy and food, but they also suffer from the consequences of immigration

Don’t read the last comment if you don’t want.

I agree on your points. And we need a real text book that discusses our South American policies. All kids should read it.

It’s like a big secret what we did down there. And it blows my mind when I had to learn about it on my own.

But it’s the whole world, not just South America.

I came here to share this video with you. Like cook them good food. Have them do agriculture, or mine, or real work. I don’t know, I’m spitballing off the top of my head. But I’d say like steel mills, mines, lumber, or like clothing? Computer chip? Real work. Slave labor.

Check that out. Cook them good food. Treat them well. Make their plantations or work camps or detention centers “self sustainable”. So focus on nitrogen production and farming and cooking first. Then expand into the real work later.

Get them good jobs. But it is jail, like for illegally crossing. But treat them well, treat their kids well. Education, indoctrination, their kids can leave the camp when they turn 18, prepared for college. Not turning them into trans. They could be our future.

Say it’s “punishment” for crossing illegally. But train them into the future generation we need.

Just make money off them. And after they paid their dues, they can stay. Or go home.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (10 children)

Yeah this isn't nearly as terrible as it sounds. The working conditions and pay for migrant farm workers and such is pretty atrocious, a nice work camp would actually be more humane. These people have broken the law, and the conditions sound better than those of US citizens in prison. These people are fleeing violence and starvation, I expect many would willingly choose being able to work and earn a living in safety, and a better life for their kids

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

Yea. I am that jack ass that has “great ideas”. Lol. Like, o if it was that easy, why haven’t someone else done it. Kekw.

[–]chickenz 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

good luck with that.. if you think that you can put mexicans into some kind of "work camp", you are delusional.. you would be surrounded by so many gang bangers and they will cut your throat.

i am just telling you how it is.

you are late to the party.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

They are literally in detention camps.

You are such a fucking weirdo.

[–]chickenz 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

They are literally in detention camps.

you have to look at the whole piicture.. the gangs are here.. the people are here.. they aint playing.. they are playing for keeps..

you dont know that i have walked the streets with gangs, from the bottom to the top.. i have had sit-downs with absolute cream of the cream of the cream.. they are more deadly than any plague.. you can not beat them by posting some nonsense in a forum. no way.

You are such a fucking weirdo.

are you flirtiing with me? you dont need to try so hard, i am easy to knock down.

[–]chickenz 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

hkp, you are missing one detail... the mexican people have successfully invaded this country AND their army is here with them.. hint: the latino mafias are 100% a legit army.

the newest branch of the latino armies is a gang that is called "tango blast"... the tango blast gang formed fairly recently in the jails and prisons.. they actually outnumber the mexican mafia and the mara salvatrucha.. i want to assure you that tango blast is no joke.. i made the acquaintance of a tango blast member, he was on my boat a few months ago.

the motto of tango blast is "if you aint blasting, you aint lasting", which means that if you arent shooting people, you aint gonna last in this gang.

this is 100% an army and they dont operate according to any of your laws.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

Yeah I don't doubt it. Ending the war on drugs would drastically reduce the problem with those gangs/mafias/armies, but I don't think our government gives a shit, because economists have known this for some time

[–]chickenz 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

to "end" drugs is ridiculous, unless you just kill everyone involved... dope fiends dont care about any laws and dealers dont care about jail time.. the rewards are too great for both siides of the coin..

you will end sex before you end the war on drugs.

just fyi, the drug gangs now own and operate wall street, they have been selling barrels of dope for decades... they are insanely rich AND they are heavily heavily armed..

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Yes our system is corrupt and unlikely to change, but I am referring to policies like decriminalization that drastically reduced drug abuse and drug trafficking in other countries such as Portugal. Every time we seize a shipment and make an arrest to reduce the supply of drugs, we only further increase the potential profits for the next would be dealers. Heroin and cocaine isnt really very expensive to produce, its just a crop, its expensive because of the laws. Decriminalization without legalization removes much of the incentive for the traffickers of drugs.

[–]chickenz 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

i can live with that.

[–]asterias 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

The situation in Europe and Greece in particular is totally different. Millions of pakis and africans enter the country illegally and we are talking about an actual invasion. And Greece (or Sweden or Malta) had never had a part in whatever CIA or others did in those countries.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah you are right, the immigration situation in Europe is much different

[–]chickenz 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (16 children)

Technically, Mexicans and native Indians lived here before the white man arrived from Europe.

So if anybody should be considered an illegal, it is me

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (14 children)

I live here now. Native Americans have their land. All that is sorted out. There is NO ancient right to claim things that someone may have owned thousands of years ago.

Back then, war decided who owned what. And they all recognized that.

So, just straight up murdering migrants would have been acceptable.

What we are dealing with is now. What to do now. Not some dumbass bull shit your making up because you feel guilty because your a cuck.

[–]chickenz 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (13 children)

Ok, so you say that war decides who owns the land..

Mexicans are engaging us in a war for the United States .

But instead of them fighting us only with guns, they are selling meth and crack and heroin, disabling a portion of the United States population, while they are also slowly invading the United States.

This is now.

The Mexicans mafia groups are winning this war

Just fyi, it doesn't matter to them if they get dropped off in DC or if they get dropped off at Martha's vineyard, it's all the same result.. the farther inland they can get, all the better.

Fyi, Mexico is winning back their ownership of the United States.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (12 children)

Mexico never owned the US.

The drugs are products being sold. You could end any drug war by producing it at home.

You have an interesting way of saying things. And we don’t necessarily disagree. Rather we’re talking past each other. If you want to hash it out that’s fine. But this feels like bickering between two women.

[–]chickenz 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (10 children)

Mexico never owned the US.

my understanding is that mexican people lived in texas and california and other southern states BEFORE white people arrived from europe.

do you agree or disagree with that statement?

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (9 children)

Again, we’re going to talk past each other, but yes. You are very correct on that.

If you want, it might be better at this point to go up above, and figure out exactly what we are arguing about.

I have a strong feeling we are going to talk past each other. I also have a feeling, that you are taking shit that happened 200 years ago, and trying to apply it to today.

Just a fyi, we have electricity now, we have nukes now, we have planes now, we have no slavery, we have just an unimaginable difference in what is going on.

You can’t trust play pretend, like we stole the land last week. Like things are the same. And this is where I think we’re going to talk past each other.

If you want I narrow down the conversation, but we are now beginning to repeat ourselves.

This conversation bores me. Im not particularly interested in half ass uninformed arguments. Go look at what HongKong said in this same thread. Like, when I start to get strong pot head, sort of liberal vibes, I sorta can’t maintain focus.

Let’s fucking be honest, the dinosaurs owned all shit a while ago. Germany owned lots of Europe at one point.

Stop with the hippy bull shit. You don’t know who to give the land away to. Like who you gonna live the land to, the cartels? The Mexicans? The tribal people who owned it? You don’t have any clue. Your just saying some broad, “like Man, dude, we’re a bunch of dick heads” … “man we stole some land man”. “Man like, we should just give all our shit up”. “Like to anyone mann”. “Like we need to let all the Mexicans across the border mannn. Like but not to my house. Or my job. Mas man. Just fuck republicans.”

This feel good, white guilt bull shit. I’m not about it bro.

[–]chickenz 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

200 years ago, the white people were the illegal immigrants... and white folks won that battle.

today, mexicans are the illegal immigrants... but the mexican is clearly winning this battle... houston, where i live, is over-ran with mexicans..

we are beyond the point of no return.

the united states is "new" mexico.

the united states is "new" china.

my white folks aint running anything any more.

the chinese have even established their own "beverly hills" and they call it arcadia.

Well we really boiled it down. Thank you.

I understand your point. Hence, labor camps.

Look man. I’m not being like a 100% sincere with you. I’m kinda screwing around.

I mean something different from what you are imagining.

You point about this being new china and New Mexico is well taken.

[–]chickenz 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

the only worry that you have about labor camps is that you arent the one to be put into one of them.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

I literally just wrote, above, just above, the last thing I wrote. Right in the middle.

I mean something different from that you are imagining.

There’s nothing that I hate more, than arguing beside someone. We’re talking past each other. I don’t know if you are doing this intentionally. I don’t know if you don’t know how to argue properly.

But I also don’t like that you and I are actually arguing. Both of us are irritated with each other.

And I don’t come on said it to get riled up.

I respect you, or whatever. I don’t want concentration camps. Your not listening.

I don’t like this conversation. Okay?

[–]chickenz 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Mexico never owned the US.

they lived here before white folks arrived from europe.

The drugs are products being sold. You could end any drug war by producing it at home.

drugs are so much more than a simple product that is being sold.

drugs are a product that people CRAVE more than they crave to breathe air itself.

i lived around dope fiends, up close and personal, for three solid years.. i slept in the meth camps.. i saw it up close.

to call "dope" just another product, is like saying that a supermodel is just another female.

[–]Airbus320 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

You right on that one

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

Look. You read "Mein Kampf". These are very old ideas, implemented the first time on a big scale by the British Empire when they turned Australia into a "far-away"-prison, as far as I know.

Hitler and Stalin mostly just copy wrote them.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

No, not that kind of labor camp. For fucks sake.

I mean like, get a nitrogen factory, take them out to some good land. And get them to farming, with good equipment, and their own colony. And then expand. Get them producing lots of shit.

And if they want to go home, they can take a bus. We will provide the bus.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Did you ever think about the fact that borders between nations are constructs from pure imagination ?

The same as "private" property is ?

You regarding people born under other flags than your own as lesser beings means the "elite" was very successful in directing your attention to "non"-problems.

Divide et impera is the ancient principle the ruling class is following when nudging your attention to people relatively unimportant to your own fate and happiness.

You should focus your attention on the asshats puppeteering your elected officials instead. At least with them, there is a small chance of actually achieving something relevant for your own life.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yea. I think you have a great point.

[–]asterias 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

So your private property is a construct from pure imagination? That's a weird thing to say.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It is nonetheless. Because even if I own those things in a sense of how we use these words now, they only are borrowed. The materials to produce them were there long before me, and the things themselves will be there after I deceased.

Humans do "only" borrow stuff because of our relatively short life-spans. Inheritance and these things couldn't exist, if we hadn't this desire to actually "own" things. Which we actually "can't" in this sense.

Also: This only was needed in earlier human civilizations because people either have no moral whatsoever (implementing chimpanzees behavior) and live too crowded and crammed together. So envy could have become a thing.

Which was a requirement to support the mostly completely effortless lifestyle of a ruling "elite" from their "over"production. This is how civilization itself began.

With someone regarding himself "better" as the people he lived with and then making demands. Which a majority of people started to fulfill, instead of questioning these demands themselves.

Which has taken a way so far into some extremes, we as a whole humanity simply can't afford it much longer anymore.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yup, I'd vote for it. Work or leave.

That’s fair man. You never know. I was talking about a place to live, where they can work.

[–]In-the-clouds 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The idea of providing honest work for people so they can eat, is good. The part that raises ethical concerns is if the labor is demanded by force and only targeting one group of people and not treating all people equally.

2 Thessalonians 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
