I have watched Spencer's Jihad Watch on YouTube several times and this lecture in full. His ideas seem logical and certainly appeal to most of us who know relatively little about Islam and have been primed to believe that Islam is a dangerous religion that, for example, carried out the 9/11 attacks. But I must ask myself: is he to be taken at face value or is he a projection of one or more world power(s) that have traditionally been opposed to Islam, often violently, and still are. All is not as it seems of course so is it possible that Mr Spencer is deliberately not being completely honest about his own motivations? I honestly do not know. Here, in part, is how Jihadwatch.org describes him:

His published books include two New York Times bestsellers. In 2003 he founded and has since directed a blog that tracks what he considers Islamic extremism, known as Jihad Watch. Born: 1962 (age 59–60) Nationality: American
