Regular dish soap can remove seasoning.
Nothing needed but warm water and a soft wash cloth.

Picture of the pan would probably be more interesting, but I went about immediately polymerizing more oil on top. Cast iron oxidizes with a quickness.

Oh, no. I knew a friend who was visiting their in-laws and decided to wash dishes the next morning before anyone woke up. They de-seasoned the cast iron cookware, but no one had the heart to tell them at the time.

If you need to scrub, just use salt instead of soap.

I do sometimes, but regular dish soap isn't a problem. This Dawn stuff is supercharged and is awesome for dishes, but a little too strong for cast iron.

It's not a particularly hard problem to fix

It's not, high temp sears burn off seasoning like crazy so it's a fairly frequent task. Just kinda shitty to accidentally remove it with detergent.

That's definitely something to consider... it's not just dishsoap that takes off that smooth layer you want.
FIL puts his in the dishwasher. It's not out of ignorance. He knows about seasoning. He's just a neat freak or a germophobe or something.

Since when do you use any detergent whatsoever to clean cast iron?
What a bizarre post.
