Sure, in a perfect (or at least better) world. The current system is too broken to be repaired. For every professor who removes the scales from your eyes, there are 5 who are phoning it in until retirement or teaching just to fund their own degree.

I think few people here would disagree with that. You just don't need to dump tens of thousands into a degree to learn.
