Most Christians have the belief that the things associated with the material side of our world are inherently corrupt or lower and that the spirit is inherently good. Not all Christians, but the majority of them.

That was an older timeline apparently. It's now been one of the ultimate heresies for 2000 years and known as "gnosticism". This time Christianity is obsessed with the material to the point of prohibiting anything spiritual. And questioning these matters is strictly forbidden.

This is no joke. Look it up, them teaching all those things apparently never happened, even though so many of us used to hear them every Sunday. Your mind will be blown. The early church scandals indicate that the version everyone remembers is still the authentic one.

Another crazy one: they no longer believe in salvation by faith alone. You won't believe me but it's true. They now teach works salvation, almost all of them, as if they have always done so. They now say you have to earn salvation by obeying them well enough. Of course it's possible they quietly changed their minds on this so they don't have to say certain political enemies of theirs aren't all going to hell, but a lot of the older material on it has disappeard too.

Interestingly there are also now a lot more additions to the Bible which seem to confirm their new teaching, and only the 2nd-century heretic Marcion posessed older versions of some books, which are much more similar to what we all remember.

I am one of them but I feel like they all left me. I don't even recognize them anymore.
