It would be even better if it showed the pollution caused by building the electric car.

Or wind turbines and solar cells.

All hail BigOil's propaganda.

What a shitpost.

It is true right now, even if one day it will leave a smaller footprint as technology grows.

Perhaps you've not seen some of the reports. I also forgot to mention nuclear power. Some examples:

France derives about 70% of its electricity from nuclear energy

In 2020, 16% of the UK's electricity came from nuclear power plants.

By 2016 France had achieved a 16.0% renewable energy share of its total energy use

Renewables (mainly wind, solar, biomass, hydro) accounted for 43% of the UK's 312 TWh of domestic power generation in 2020

Norway is the largest clean energy producer, as 98.4% of its energy production comes from renewable sources.

Solar panels don't produce at night and most placements are not even 100% efficiency in peak sunlight. Wind does not blow all the time in most places. They both have life cycles which means they had to be disposed of an new ones built. Fossil fuels produce when you need them to. If energy storage were better, then I think you see a bigger move to renewables. We are headed that way, but we are not there yet. Nuclear seems to be best right now, but who's building those plants except the French?

Would like to see more of an interest in Thorium-based nuclear power. Not sure why it's not taken seriously.

3 US planned nuclear sites are noted in the chart, here, one of which begins construction next year: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_power_in_the_United_States

I looked into that and I heard that the need for molten salts would be too corrosive on the equipment, among other drawbacks.

The solution is to have the modular tank sections replaced every 10 years. It's big but the waste is far less and easier to deal with than other energies.

I don't know what other drawbacks you're referring to.

Keep looking at it. ZZZTheyZZZ are keeping it from us.

Even gasoline has a lifespan before the jelly.

That's not accurate, but it's not wrong. The worse environmental harm is in mining for and manufacturing the electronics and batteries - and the fact that the batteries are only good for so long before they become extremely expensive to replace.

Yes, and the energy storage is the weak link in "renewable" energy, too. Until batteries improve enough, electric cars, etc. will always lag behind.

YES!

You also need to include all the mines where they destroy the planet to make the batteries.

wants a third panel where the car is charged by wind farms, supported by a coal powered wind farm factory and wind farm decommissioning facility.

this is bullshit.

I don't know, diesel is pretty dirty stuff lol

Power plants are a lot more efficient than a car engine.

Efficiency more than 50%?

and i saw this on reddit.

they find a way to 'make fun' of this
