Freedom of Speech. Right to bear arms. Greatest military fighting force on earth. Large amount of patriots. Christian country (among those who are religious). Stronger economy than the vast majority of other countries.

I'm not from the US myself, but I hope to live there one day.

No other country even comes close.

If we can get past this censorship push and return to Freedom of Speech, you are correct, this is the strongest reason to love a place. Relative to other parts of the world, the US (until 2015) was amazing in that people (within our borders, anyway) could actually go about our business and say what we thought, disagree about it, and get on with our lives. The last seven years have been an eye-opener for just how quickly that assumption can change. In the past seven years, we are witnessing the most rapid social regression anyone could dream of. The forces of today's authoritarianism (the official message is sacred; dissent is heresy) have thoroughly trashed our tradition of open debate. Without respectful debate, we are headed down the tubes very quickly indeed.

But it wasn't very long ago that "America" really was a remarkable place within world history.

A lot of people, myself included, remember 2015 as being the turning point. Wtf happened that year?

Trump. The Pigs (Orwell Animal Farm) thought they could put up Trump as the ultimate bad guy and thus ensure that Hillary looked reasonable by contrast. They (including he himself) didn't expect him actually to win. But the plan has gone forward anyway. They continue to use Trump as the Goldstein figure (Orwell 1984) to demonstrate how they are light and good and he is the "potential disaster", as demonstrated by January 6. The return of Biden is the "return of sanity" according to the official narrative, distributed by the Ministry of Truth (i.e. MSM, i.e. western Pravda).

This all ramped up in 2015.

The Pigs have no rational leaders left in either party, so we are left with pure propaganda to make up the difference as Davos works its plans.

Interesting times, but hard ones.
