What's your opinion on out of body experiences? That's what the radio show I was listening to was talking about. Apparently a common thing in OBEs is seeing the light, dead loved ones, and feeling the presence of God. I have always had a screaming feeling in my gut that it is bad bad bad, but my spouse is super into the idea (that's why it was on) All of it seemed evil and dangerous in a way I can't really verbalize or convince him and it's frustrating.

They're a trick. Satan masquerades as an angel of light. Not only that, but if Jesus is to be believed heaven is not a place you can travel to:
The kingdom of God will not come by observation, and they cannot say, "Look, there it is!", because look, the kingdom of God is in your midst.
I always had my suspicions about these encounters too. This nagging feeling that it would be fake and done by impersonators, or at least some kind of test, but more likely just a trick. Almost everyone reports the same experience, but the deity that appears always happens to be the one they believe in. I wouldn't trust it.
