    I was mad, and it was nearly Christmas and I wanted to have a nice holiday. I think it was an excellent decision in retrospect.

    I think your personal feelings do affect your actions with Socks. Yes, he's like one of the top 3 most reported people, yes, you are in your right to ban him, and yes, his refusal to acknowledge his increasingly indefensible positions can be maddening.

    But anyone posting long and frequently enough is going to end up violating the rules. You could find 3 strikes for most of us if you wanted to. Certainly me.

    You judged his presence a net positive or neutral at least until recently. And I'm not sure it was entirely reasonable to suspect him of bringing down web pages. No offense, I thought you might have been a little paranoid from bud.

    Most importantly though, I don't want him banned and isn't that what really matters?

    I did judge him as a neutral until recently. I thought JasonC was a crazy old man for getting so pissed. But then I debated about 5 things with socks and saw it for myself. Hypothetically if you noticed intentional gaslighting from someone, I hope that would turn you off too.
