Has anyone noticed a large percentage of shill accounts lately?(self)

I've noticed a lot of shill accounts trying to influence talk as well at attitude, lately. These accounts try to sound American but mess up sometimes using non-American English. I've also noticed a lot of accounts active Monday through Friday only, as well as posting during hours that aren't traditionally when Americans are awake. I know that some people are night owls, but there appear to be more on Saidit than I would imagine. Remember; shill accounts work when they stir up division. They can agree or disagree with the crowd, as long as it helps stir up discontent.

It's not new and some are bots. It's been going on since Saidit started taking off. So be careful who you talk to. Strange that it's a reflection of the world IRL.

I know of the Americans bot and it's alts, but it only creates posts and comments without context. Do any of the bots interact with real users here, that you know of?

I've heard that there are bots that can carry conversations with users, but it seems they always trip up along the way or eventually say something strange or off-topic.

Yup. There are several paid posters working this site. They advance opinions they do not hold and attempt to derail conversations. At Ruqqus a mole got into their chat server and exposed the whole operation. It's a social media influencer company.

'shill' doesnt always mean 'someone with opposing views'. there is a lot of that, but many times it really means 'just incredibly fucking stupid'. one of those might be in this thread right now.

Shill = an accomplice of a hawker, gambler, or swindler who acts as an enthusiastic customer to entice or encourage others.

Plenty of these on Saidit. I agree with mahavishnunj though, that there are simply a lot of stupid people here.

No, I haven’t noticed. How can bots function on this platform? The requirements to log in and post are human proof.

Yes. I haven't noticed the scheduling thing, but there seems to be an uptick in new accounts that attempt to sow infighting or only post the bleakest black pill demoralization. There are also a few accounts whose posting mostly consists of slurs and other no-no words; they could be edgy kids but I think they're probably astroturfers.
