it'd help but wearing a mask is annoying, and i don't think it outweighs the small amount it helps stop the spread of covid which doesn't kill very many. They mainly don't want hospitals being overcrowded but they were already overcrowded before covid, going to an ER you'd have to wait hours which when it is by definition an emergency that is unacceptable. They needed to build more hospitals and hire more doctors. Now a variant of the common cold has caused a pandemic where most are asymptomatic.
