30 years later and he's still chasing that dollar...

What an absolute tool. There is absolutely no way he is winning this frivolous lawsuit. Some lawyer is using him to either make some money off of him directly or simply taking a shot in the dark that someone in the defendant pool will pay up to avoid the hassle. Meanwhile he suffers the permanent damage that this publicity is doing to his name.

"Elden says he "has suffered and will continue to suffer lifelong damages" as a result of the artwork, including "extreme and permanent emotional distress" as well as "interference with his normal development and educational progress" and "medical and psychological treatment", the BBC reported."

"Despite supposedly being scarred for life by the album cover, Elden had re-enacted it several times as a teenager and adult to mark the 10th, 20th and 25th anniversaries of the album. "

"He told Time in 2016: "It's hard not to get upset when you hear how much money was involved. [When] I go to a baseball game and think about it: 'Man, everybody at this baseball game has probably seen my little baby penis,' I feel like I got part of my human rights revoked.""

LOL. theres no way this is real. if hes just trying to fuck courtney love out of some money, this is brilliant. if it IS real, wow.

If he was smart, he'd sell NFTs of all those photos to over moneyed tech bros and be set for life.

A naked baby chasing a dollar does kind of have connotations to it.

Not really. Just because you attribute a story to it does not mean that this story is inherent to the image. That fact can easily be proven by simply asking any number of people to independently report what they think the story is and see that none of them agree. If the property you attribute to it were inherent to the item then that property would be nearly universal.

Dude, Nirvana is disgusting for putting a naked human on their album art, LET ALONE A NAKED CHILD SWIMMING AFTER A DOLLAR

I think we all know what those Hollywood suck-up heroin addicts were getting at

Well yes. It was the intent of the album art. Though you yourself have not stated what these connotations are, as everything has 'connotations' inherent in them.

In my opinion, rephrasing brings clarity to connotations:

Carrot and stick, from birth to death.

I could have stated it more directly, yet in this instance, I have chosen not to.
