I hope she'll learn that popular astrology is no longer based on where the planets are located, and remains of course only a social construct or superstition (and difficult to avoid), much like racism, which is also merely a social construct, with no other significance.

I hope you've talked with her about going to college or a trade school and to stop putting herself in shitty situations for which there is no reasonable future, especially for her kid

In my view, the father should have asked to marry her long ago, and if he hasn't done this, he's worthless, which is perhaps the point I would have made to her, and she'd be mad at me, and I've have to apologize and talk about college, adopiton, &c, which of course would be doubly annoying to her, but that in my view is a compassionate response to her situation

How is racism a social construct?

/u/socks thinks everything is a social construct including God.

Long time, no see, Larry

One of the problems is that we're all somewhat 'mixed', dating back to the seven daughters of Eve, or beginning of time &c. A consistent argument at /s/debatealtright/ is that none of this matters because the people who look "white" (or white enough?) are the master race that should rule everyone. (For example, I know someone in India with a British grandmother, who is whiter than many white folks, but she's otherwise completely South Asian. This white supremacist problem is an old colonial eugenic idea that was as illogical then as it is now. That idea is also a social construct, and is not reflected in much of nature or society. One can look at the expectations of conservative Jews in order to see ways in which they try not to taint their blood with that of goyim. But this ethnocentrism again leads to other problems for them, and is one reason conservative Jews have been hated for millennia by goyim. Regardless of whatever breeding strategies they want to use to preserve their ethnicities, the conservatives have consistently reinforced their religious and social expectations to avoid goyim, not to marry them, not to hire them for jobs, not to live near them, not to eat their food, &c. This is one reason Jews have been seen as parasites by non-Jews. There are also conservative Pakistanis who will "honour kill" their daughters if they don't marry the approved Pakistani arranged man, though they're very much in the minority of Pakistanis in general. White supremacists will face similar criticisms for not integrating in society, committing hate crimes &c. The main problem here is not so much the social construct of 'race', but the extremist view that the "other" should be treated like pigs.

That's a HUGE strawman and you know it socks. Please reference just one conversation where a regular DAR user said something like this.

I hope /u/LarrySwinger2 knows who he's chatting with.

There's so much wrong with her post that it'd take too much energy to point it all out. That's the only reason for my silence -- no need to worry about me. I'm going to make a meme about her scientism some time.

Will do.
