There's a post on the front page by the admins, written in corporatese, telling the users to get fucked. They obviously didn't write it.

It's badly written corporatese, so they may have written it. Regardless, it's a MASSIVE contrast from what the site-purpose claimed to be (and still claims to be). This just seems flagrantly incompetent.

It's a totally different voice from what they've used in the past, and the concepts are way too abstract for them. Someone else wrote it and demanded they post it. And they did.

It's certainly possible. Whether someone gave them money, they were threatened, or this is who they always were is hard to tell. Some people had been warning about this for some time. I won't claim to be one of the people who saw it coming.
