Like being able to pick up that salad bowl without a helping hand.

Strength: the degree of intensity of a feeling or belief.

I see a person demonstrating great strength, according to this definition of strength. There are other descriptors that might come to mind first.

Strength definitely does not look like that to me, but starvation does. I first came across Vegan around 2001 from some kooky folks coming from California. I'd ask them about it, but their explanations just seemed long and boring. I just dismissed it as a new buzz word for vegetarian. Being in the meat eating mid-west at the time, it always made me laugh whenever we would take one of them to a restaurant. The vegan would ask if the restaurant had a vegetarian option, and the waiter/waitress, without skipping a beat would say, "We've got salad." I remember this small salad bar that had been opened in Houston or Dallas that was almost always empty. It was funny seeing these sort of delusional people back then. Now, it's all kinds of pitiful.
