Unfortunately, the base cause of this problem is the nature of our species itself. Only a small fraction are functional. The rest are the evil overlords, and the vast herds of cow-people.

The fringes of society is where you'll find the core of dissidents, and those who think differently from "the norm". People literally in society can have varying levels of antipathy towards the evil and stupidity, but they are tolerating and working with it.

It would be easier to just pretend to go along. The downside is you begin to allow them to shape your thinking and beliefs.

Practically, I can't tell you where or how to find non-zombies in your area, especially since you still live with your parents. Just keep talking to people you meet and remember to keep your power level under wraps if you're in one of those 'snitch' states.
