This video made me understand and respect the police much more than I ever thought possible - Body Cams: OIS Left Firefighter and Gunman Dead and 2 Injured - Man overdoses on heroin, gets saved by police, firefighters and medics - avoids being searched until last second, kills FF & injures others.

I can see how their view of people can get "mechanical", though. Interactions with officers can seem cold, but their brains are processing all the scenarios of what could happen in a given situation.

Exactly. This is what I meant when I said “I understood police more”. The shit in the videos above, where two men’s lives were just saved only for the rescuers to be killed..

That would make me cold too. I wouldn’t care about anything but doing my job, and getting home to my family alive that day.

Also, I never even knew that was a thing. That’s an awesome idea, I’m sure it’s good for networking too. Thank you for sharing the experience and idea!
