Somehow he is paying for it successfully, but only after the site goes down for a while and someone notices. I wish I knew more too. I don't have access to the billing/payments shit and m7 is not communicating with me or anyone else that I'm aware of.

I mean that does kind of feel sus.. he has time to pay for the community but not time to just say “wassup busy rn hope all is well, will be back”.

This reminds me of the end of the original Voat. I know magnora has irl stuff going on, I just wish he wouldn’t make people paranoid and feel like they need an explanation.

I think it's a recurring billing issue, because the downtimes happen a month apart from each other (4/22, 5/19, 6/21). He said the automatic payment got rejected last time, so possibly he has to then pay it manually and the site is down in the meantime (but this is conjecture).

I may have had an interaction with m7. I posted a link to Incantation (my own forum) on /r/saiditnet and it got removed while m7 is the only moderator of that subreddit. At the same time, it could've been removed automatically, since my LarrySwinger Reddit account is new and still in moderation. Incantation is hosted as a hidden service, so especially the onion link may have triggered the moderation.

Edit: oh, and also, I was doing it behind a VPN, that may have something to do with it as well.

Credit card billing is every 28 days and recurring donations are usually set up monthly, so that may explain a 5 day gap in service. Maybe the account balance is too low to keep the server up until the donations come in.

I don't think it's a low balance. He said the hosting company had refused his payment for no apparent reason.

It seems like he's trying to slowly wind Saidit down and the downtimes are meant to be a hint. Give it a few more months and one of the downtimes will be permanent.

In my opinion you're jumping to conclusions. He could just as easily be tired of it and taking distance. It's also possible he's caught up in other affairs. It's a long time for no update whatsoever, but sometimes big things happen.

    If this is the case, server and billing access should be shared with another trustworthy individual. Regardless, I appreciate all that M7 has done for this community and hope all is well with him in his personal life.
