A Chip Shortage -- How Appropriate

It occurs to me that of all the wrenches to damage this machine from which we all suffer, a shortage of computer chips is wonderfully on target.

The computer chip, the most sought after tool by the machine for tracking every motion, thought, action, emotion of every human on Earth.

A tiny ray of optimism: perhaps they will never have enough chips to achieve the level of control they seek. Our innate Humanity is a tough force to contain...

If there's a legit chip shortage then THEY get to chose who is "essential" or not.

It's a great thought, but this is a problem they're definitely going to solve. Our only real hope is that the earth catastrophe cycle is real, and that a micronova fries all electronics on the planet.

Mmm... yeah. A Carrington event would be a reset for sure, and I've thought about that as well. The carnage that would follow, however, would be terrifying at a level that's hard even to imagine. I can't find optimism in an event that would create the terror and violence that would inevitably follow such an instantaneous shift from extreme wealth to existential poverty.

But you're certainly right. It would put an absolute stop to the controllers' ability to exercise the technological slavery they are currently engaged in. At least for a time, anyway, until they could rebuild the necessary infrastructure. That window would provide a wake-up opportunity for those who survived.

It would probably be forgotten, and we'd all clamor after 'strong leaders' again, and repeat the whole sordid mess.

Ideally we need the Great Reset to take off, get well-established and mass evidence and records, and THEN get fried back to the stone age, so we can indeed build back better, ensuring that never again do we rely on the concept of 'governments' lording it over the plebes. We could rebuild on a decentralized base from Day One.

Now THAT I'd love to live long enough to see! :D

In reality, I'm almost glad I'm too old to see this current 'reset' in it's final, horrific form.

Covid panic, covid lock-downs, the Suez Canal getting blocked temporarily, the already terrible state of the economy, rich folks only investing into industries that are "recession-proof" (aka don't need the money), etc.

Main thing with CANBus is, it saves on the size of the wire looms. No need to run control wires the length of the car for every little thing. Bad news is, bad implementations, poor zoning, and other silly shit, you could hook on a vampire tap onto an exposed cable, spoof the control bus and effectively own the vehicle.
